Memory.
Memory is a hard and weird concept of the human brain. How early in your life do you remember?
It's been said that memories don't form until the age of 3, but it's common for a 7 year old to completely forget all those memories, it's called "Childhood amnesia". If you think about it, an older adult has a more vivid memory about your own childhood than you do. It's really trippy to think about. You could be told you did something as a child, and it could be completely made up. You would never know. You wouldn't know if you were lied to, or if it were the truth. Either way you'd have to rely on old pictures. When you were 5, your experiences were vivid while it was happening, but now you may have no recollection of the time you went Easter egg hunting in the park.
Now that you're older, you tend to remember things better, but you reading this at this moment, it's very vivid. You wouldn't think you would not remember this because currently it's so vivid. Do you get it? I barely do. You know it's said that the majority of your memories are false. Our brains only remember a piece of experiences you've had in the past, but it's said your current experiences could change your memories. It's really fascinating.
Something I fear about growing old is maybe gaining Alzheimer'sc or any form of losing the majority of your memory. What are you without your memory of your entire life, it's upsetting that you could lose your entire past memories and experiences. A part of you would be lost, and you wouldn't be able to get it back.
