Prologue
In the year 2345 magic was first genetically coded successfully into a rat. The rat gained the ability to use elemental magic. After a few more tests they went on to human trials.
The First successful embryo trial occurred in 2366 with the embryo developing in to a child successfully who could use magic.
After this they started testing on humans but unfortunately the procedure didn’t work as it seemed that only unborn humans were compatible with the genetical changes.
Now in 2558 Magic is in almost every household across the country but for this to work they had to leave advancements in technology behind for human advancements to succeed. For this reason the world has seemingly took a step back in the name of advancement technology and a massive leap forwards in human advancements.
This is how the Magical world started. Since 2370 the surgery had been available but people were skeptical at first. This is why it took so long for the world to adapt to this advancement. Over the years, schools of magic began to pop up around the nation with the first gen passing along what they have learnt to the next so on and so forth.
Over the years, beasts from the past have been returning to this world, increasing the need for mages by a tenfold. With this increase of beasts returning so did demi-humans. People who are a cross of beast and human. These people are very strong and powerful and are more capable than Humans when it comes to magic. This can be seen in the top three highest ranked mages;
Hazel a demi-Earth drake who is currently the highest leveled mage on earth.
Tantei a Demi-Yeti the second highest mage, 100 levels off Hazel.
Firen a Demi-Lightborn the Third strongest mage who is only 1 level off of Tantei.
And I think that is all you need to know about this world so, now it’s onto your story.

Chapter 1
There they stood, waiting for their first look at the school, albeit from the otherside of the gates of which keep out unwanted visitors. The crowd of about 40 people waited to enter the building, talking to one another in hushed tones of excitement and nervousness.
Well at least that’s what Nox’s opinion of the crowd was. A bunch of no good people who dream to be as good of a mage as themself. Speaking of themselves, Nox has dark grey hair that faded into a dark purple, usually tied in a high ponytail, which would blow in the harsh winds of the dreary day. They had tanned skin which today, much like any day, was dressed in a light grey hockey shirt with a dark red jumper over it. They were also wearing black leggings which had white cuffs around the waist and ends. They were athletically built. Nox stood at 5’11, if they ever stood up right, and had deep, dark, blue eyes. Currently, they were leaning against a pillar judging the crowd in front of them, trying to pick out anyone who might stand a chance against them in a 1 on 1 duel. As they had expected, they felt no one here would be as skilled or as gifted as themselves.
Suddenly, the gates next to them swung open and everyone started to pile into the front court. Nox stalked behind the massive group to make sure they they didn’t get shoved by the rushing crowd. Slowly and surely everyone fitted into the courtyard, waiting to be told when and where to go to.
When the students were all in the Courtyard, everything went silent as the Headmage appeared on stage.
“Hello, my new mages! It has been four years since we last opened up our doors, and now it is time to open them again. Welcome!”
The crowd roared in applause to this greeting, and undoubtedly at the chance to go to the country's best school. Well, everyone but a few people who anticipated the next statement.
“Calm down mages,” Said Markus “You haven’t definitely gotten into the school yet.”
With this statement the crowd shut up instantly, confused to what was happening. Nox simply smirked at how oblivious the rest of the people here were. The best school in the country is the best for a reason, because only the best are allowed in.
“Now, as you may or may not know, to get into this school you have to complete the trials for your chosen lesson to prove that you are worthy of entering the courses,” explained Markus.
With this, the crowd started to bicker anxiously to one another about what the trials could be. Nox simply smiled

Chapter 2
“So, onto the trials. First we will be hosting the entry trial for puppetry. Everyone will be required to take part in the subject exams. However, you do have a choice: if you pass, you can decide whether or not you do the subject.” explained Markus.
“Whaat?” exclaimed Niji, confused out of his mind. He knew a little bit about what they were doing today but he hadn’t had a clue that everyone would be taking part in each activity that would hold. He scanned the field which they were standing in. Immediately, he felt more comforted by the fact that most people seemed to have the same mindset as him in this current situation.
“Follow me students!” came a shout from Markus, as he began walking through a gap in the fence he could’ve sworn had not been there previously. The students obeyed, following him down the trail. It meandered around the side of the school, to turn around and reveal a mess tent. How could 600 students fit in that tiny area?!
Niji was stunned as he went beyond the threshold, to the reveal of an impossible space, one so humongous it couldn’t have been physically possible! “Like a Tardis..” Niji mumbled. He heard other students’ awe, as they shuffled into the massive room. Desks were laid in neat rows among the floor, each home to a label with a student’s name on it. Niji felt he knew where to go, among the mass of 600 desks. It looked like everyone else did too, as they moved in orderly queues to get to their spaces. Niji found his desk and sat down, looking across the space of other’s heads.
From the entrance of the “tent”, several teachers walked in and took their places at the front of the desks. Niji looked across the room at the front to see a row of tables (Kinda like the front of the hogwarts dining hall) with several different adult species sitting at them. Niji assumed that they would be the invigilators or the teachers who take residence at the school.
Slowly one of the adults stepped up to the stand/podium and called across the classroom, “My name is Shizrah Yttrivus. To those of you who pass this test, I will be your Puppetry teacher this year. Now, onto why you are here, today you will be taking your entrance exam. For your puppetry exam you will simply be required to make the puppet on your desk move without touching it. You have an hour. Good luck.”
