Hello! my suggestion is that if you are the owner of a thread, you can lock your own thread :)

I'm really not sure where I stand on this suggestion. One one hand, I see the usefulness of being able to lock your own thread. I also see the other side with wanting the staff to have the final say on all threads. I'm going to remain neutral on this until I can see other feedback on this suggestion.

There's no real downside to this that I can see.

Ye,why not? You're the owner of the thread right? :>
Better than call a staff, and wait, wait until they see and lock it

I don't really see this being needed. I could simply @ (staff Member) and boom locked when they see it. Also the admins might get confused on suggestions since they have been locked. I remember once that a mod didn't lock the thread since the chance of it being implement was possible, then again I have a poor memory of this. Also maybe the admins might want to see more on this topic.

Hi, when i said "Can an admin lock this please" they locked it in 1 day. some didnt even see this.

I do believe this was Rejected once before. Mainly because some people can lock their thread after one annoying comment they don't like. Also as Time said, just Tag a Mod/Helper online. They will come and lock the ASAP.

Just thought I'd mention this:

You can see my reasoning as well as the reasoning of others in this thread. Also, be sure to look for suggestions that have already been made :)
Went back to that thread from an alert from a necropost.
I understand now.
There aren't any real downsides. @Kra3tys lol
Even triggered people locking their threads already occurs right now. It makes no difference from asking for a thread to be locked, and staff don't have to deal with this. If I ask for a thread to be locked, staff will lock it. Why not just lock it yourself?

A huge +1, I completely understand now.

@Clockwork does a good job of explaining here:
Staff are obliged to lock a thread... when the owner says to lock the thread.

This gets rid of the staff having to get involved... so the owner can take control of his thread.

It doesnt matter what COULD happen. What if someone hurts my feelings by locking this because i disagree with them!?!?!?!??!?!???!/1?1/1?! it wont matter. They tell a staff to lock the thread and the thread is locked. Kaput. cry. This is just disabling staff member involvement. Thats all.
