Can we just do like a #tb and just go back so that the material of your weapon depends on your ranks. I personally, tried getting in the top 10 when I did to get a diamond weapon (i might be a little off with what the exact rank for each weapon was). It gives a sense of competition as PrisonBop was talking about in his recent post. Everybody that bought the weapons can just get their coins back.
I.E: Dirt/Cobblestone - Wooden weapon
Coal/Iron - Stone weapon
Gold/Diamond- Iron Weapon
Ranks 200-20 - Gold weapon
Ranks 19-1 - Diamond weapon
It could be moved around a little, but keep the general idea ya feel
But what if I don't want my money back.
By the way, just from the prices, it takes a decent amount of skill to obtain higher grade gear.
The only other way really is to play nonstop since the reset 'back in the day.'
And tbh by then you'd have learned enough to be good anyways.
The gear system as it is now is a better measure of skill than it ever was, because in reality, many things affect your rank.
A better solution to competitions is automated monthly leaderboards, this allows for people to test their skill against the highest players ranks, without having to grind fifty thousand games just to reach diamond.
Tbh prizes to the top 200 would be nice, but in reality, would be hard without support from the very top.
Best way would be to give the top player a name in murder, that's it, and the rest get automated coin prizes.
