Ah, Italy. The amazing place where we get beautiful pizza and some other food (I forgot. Maybe pasta?). Sounds like just the place where a murderer would hide, right?

I was in the city with friends Wolf, Kona, Mia and Jack Ze Pug (I figured I would use an Italian accent. Or is it French?). We were just walking around the place when something caught Kona's eye.

'What's that?' she asked.
'It looks like a green thing.' said Jack, because he was observant like that.

I got onto my knees and picked up this strange thing. It glistened with a brilliant green shine, I couldn't describe its beauty.

Suddenly Mia piped up. 'Hey guys, I'm going to go the other way, okay? I'm just gonna explore.' We didn't have a problem with that, so Mia set off on her way.

The others and I kept walking straight, until we came across what seemed to look like a hotel. It was hard to be sure, since it was mostly made of sandstone. 'Can we crash here for the night?' I asked them. Wolf shrugged. Jack took a sudden interest in his feet. 'Come on guys, you know I don't like these kind of answers! I want a yes or no, do you hear me? A yes or-' I was suddenly cut off by a high pitched scream, cutting the midnight air like a knife.

Wolf was suddenly powered up. 'That was Mia!' she gasped.

There was no mistaking it; that scream sounded just like Mia. Another thought came to me.

'Um, guys, where's Kona?' We all looked around the place. There was no sign of Kona or Mia.

'Something's wrong,' Jack remarked, as if we didn't know that already.

I decided to speak up. 'Alright, no more games. We're going out to find Mia and see if she's okay.'

'And Kona,' Wolf pointed out.

'Eh, if we have time.' I agreed.

Jack led us to where Mia had parted with us. Like all good detectives do, we followed the path. We saw a certain door, completely blown off its hinges. And was that a scratch mark? 'Okay, we're going in, just stay quiet. We do not want anyone finding us.'

By the time we made it to the top floor, it was already dusk. There was only one door on this level, Mia had to be here. I opened the door quietly and stepped in.

The room was cold. Unusually cold. The windows were broken and scratched. But the real shock was in front of us.

I had to clamp my hand over Wolf's mouth to stop her screaming. Mia was drenched in blood, it was spilling all over the floor and out the window. A huge gaping hole was in her chest.

I knew she wasn't alive. Nobody could survive a hit like that. Wolf was trying to kick my shin and smack my face so she could get close. I held my ground. If I let her towards the body, she might go insane and catapult herself out the window.

You know, just in case.

'No,' I whispered. Tears were streaming out of her eyes, I had to get her out of here. We got out, but it took longer because we were all in a state of shock and Wolf was still struggling. Not as violent as before, but still mad. She kept screaming 'Gale!' and 'Take me back!' and occasionally 'Kill you!' It didn't really help my mood.

We were back in the open air, and more cautious this time. We could be jumped at any time.

I tried to recollect my thoughts. Mia had been stabbed in the chest with a knife, and the murderer had jumped out the window. That explained the window. But who had done it? And where was Kona?

As if on cue, a figure stepped out of the shadows. 'Well then,' said Kona, in a slightly ominous tone. 'I suppose you found Mia?'

'Why would you do this? Why? What did she do to you?' Wolf was sobbing again. (She's a little sensitive about her friends.)

'I have been offered a great reward for my deeds. You are the invaders. And I am the hero.' A split second later, she had a knife in her hand, and was hurling it towards Jack.

'No!' I cried, but it was too late.

Jack just stood there in surprise at the new knife in his chest, then suddenly collapsed. Before he died, he whispered one word. 'Gale.'

I stood up. Now I was getting slightly ticked off. 'They were right about you.' I stammered. 'You are just a ghost with no feelings for others, you're just so selfish.'

Kona screamed and shot another knife at me, but I had been expecting it. Unfortunately, it went after Wolf instead. I grabbed her at the last second and pushed her to the ground. The knife wedged itself in the wall. She stared in horror at the knife which nearly snagged her. 'Wow, thanks.'

'Don't mention it.'

'I just did.'

Suddenly, a strange sight caught my eyes. A villager was waving at me and jumping like a madman. Behind him, there were racks of guns. I pulled my green thing out and bolted towards the stand. I slid my token across the desk and pulled out one of my favourite handguns: a USP 45. I aimed it at Kona, whose attention was trained on Wolf. 'I don't think so, woman!' I yelled and pulled the trigger.

Everything seemed to happen in slow motion. Kona shook and fell backwards, looking proudly at her new bullet in her stomach. If that happened to anyone, they would've died.

Kona died.

I didn't feel a scent of sympathy. She got what she deserved. She had killed Jack and Mia, what better price was there than to kill her?

Wolf was shaking in the corner, staring at Kona's lifeless body. Then she started cheering and swearing and throwing rocks at the body.

I wasn't in the mood to celebrate. I was still shaken up about Mia's bloodbath and Jack's murder. Well, I would get over it soon.

Hope you enjoyed my story! If not, please comment on how I could improve!
