New Gametype KitPvP or Prison

If you read up, I explained that staff apply to keep the network safe, we have over 30 staff members, we can’t not implement a game which could bring us a lot of players just because it will make staff jobs harder, in all honesty yes it probably would make our jobs harder, however that’s what we’re here for, and as I said there’s usually a lot of staff on at the same time meaning we will be able to spread across the network if this was to he implented. It would be great if the topic of toxicity would stop being brought up as it’s not really a valid reason to deny a game being implemented.

I love the gamemode prison as it's fun and competitive, for those who have said it'll be too similar to our sister server, maybe partyzone could have a regular prison rather than an over powered version, kitpvp would also be very lovely and great for those who want to develop their pvp skills at partyzone or show their skills here!
For those who are saying it'll be way too toxic for partyzone, I'd say there are rules enforced and there are staff on almost all day here to enforce rules and if you seen someone breaking a rule simply just report them as it'll be the best thing you can do when staff aren't around.
 
Maybe to help make KitPVP a little more "PZ-ish," we could stylize it differently. For example, some KitPVP kits could be things like "Party Crasher" that has a special exploding presents ability, a "Party Planner" who "invites" (wink wink) minions like wolves to join the battle and fight for the Party Planner. These abilities shouldn't be overpowered, but I think they'd be a great way to spice things up.

Another thing that I thought was pretty cool on a KitPVP server I used to play on (which I believe is now offline) was how, in addition to the normal kits, when you killed players, you'd get some tokens (yes, this would be a DIFFERENT currency than regular PZ coins, because it's not for the same kind of stuff). If you died in the battlefield, you'd lose some of your tokens and they'd go to the player who killed you. (If you kill someone who has no tokens, you'd still get some, thus adding tokens to the market.) These tokens can be used to purchase items in a shop, such as ender pearls (which may already be part of a kit), golden apples, etc. Maybe even stronger armor. These items are DROPPED WHEN YOU DIE, meaning there's a greater risk to keeping purchased items. There could also be an ender chest in spawn so players can store their purchased items. The currency thing isn't completely necessary, but it's a fun way to make hunting down powerful players more desirable, because they most likely have more coins stored up.
 
These seem like amazing game modes that are popular on other servers and would increase the amount of players logging back into Partyzone! As stated before, the game modes should have variations that differ from other servers and encourage the individuality of Partyzone. You already stated in your original comment the ways that we could change the game modes to match Partyzone so overall I believe these game modes could be very helpful to the server.

I like this! Maybe Build Battle and karaoke should be its own game mode! People will know about it more, and PZ will go viral as it did with Murderer a few years ago.

But on some note, I have to disagree. Just because it is popular on other servers, does not mean it will get popular. I have been on other servers that added these games, and it didn't really work. You need people to advertise it, like the youtubers who made Murderer go viral. Again, like when murderer was added, you need NEW game modes that other servers haven't implemented for people to join.

You can’t tell how a gamemode will come out, no matter what it is, and what will be popular and what won’t.

You can’t really have karaoke as a gamemode because not everyone has teamspeak or discord. Not everyone is comfortable either- and having it as a gamemode would become very repetitive as you have access to 24/7, that may not happen, but it’s still rather difficult. Plus this is an event. Events are held to bring more players on and create excitement weekly as a fun little weekend game. Same goes for build battle. We have/had a game relatively similar to buildbattle, “build swap”. It’s not that popular at all- and it may have been removed, I’m not sure. But it just shows how repetitive it gets. These two events are community events, and we try our best to connect with players and make it a fun weekly thing players can look forward to. This really should be another suggestion though. Feel free to make one if you want more feedback and opinions.

Back to the actual suggestion, I do genuinely think this could be nice to have on the network. Just because it’s labeled toxic on other servers, doesn’t mean it will be here. Staff can moderate this toxicity and it will be dealt with accordingly.
We shouldn’t be denying suggestions because “it’ll make staffs jobs harder”. We applied to moderate the server, we have over 30 staff members who will help contribute and more people will apply and get accepted. Yes it may make our jobs harder, but it’s what we applied for, what we do and is not a reason we should deny a suggestion that could potentially add a new game that players will like.

Prison and KitPvP are fun gamemodes which are very popular on other networks, usually some of their most popular games. For a long time, PZ hasn't really been seen as a network to have a game like this as we're "family friendly" and these games are "too violent", although we do have a game which encourages you to kill your friends...

Why is it a good idea?

So what i'm suggesting is this. Its clear to see that original games aren't working at bring more players to the network, splatter, arcade, survival games, revamping downgrade and even massacre didn't last very long, and now I feel like it's time for a change. KitPvP or Prison are both major gamemodes which are competitive where you have to go against other players (KitPvP more so that prison), with KitPvP we are able to make it partyzone related as you can make kit names party themed, and with prison, instead of having things such as mine A, B, C etc... we could have mines which are also party themed to fit along with the party theme nicely.

Another reason this is a good idea is that events on the network can get quite repetitive, build battle and karaoke every weekend, lobby hunts for annual events, story and drawing contests on the forums and so on. Adding these kinds of gamemodes allows us to add more variety to events, like with both modes you can do a king of the hill event where the winner at the end of a set time wins a certain prize, you can do drop parties and much more - this will add a wider variety to our events and allow them to be less repetitive and more interesting.

Why might people not like it?

Now, people may be saying "No we can't have this its too violent for pz, and this will increase toxicity and hackers which isn't good!", we have a staff team, a chat filter and a forums which you are able to report players on, so this is not an issue and can easily be dealt with.

People may also not like it because the game is too competitive for the network, however as I stated we already have games such as downgrade or murder which we have to kill people, so these games aren't much different as to which we have to kill people, prison is less violent and is more trying to rank up but can also have a pvp arena of some sort to make it more interesting.

I agree - I'd go for KitPVP over prison.

Maybe there could be some kind of leveling system to upgrade kits that players use often to spice things up. For example, a kit could start at Level 1 and if the player did enough damage with it, they could level it up to Level 2, slightly increasing some stats of the kit. I think it should specifically be about dealing damage, not obtaining a specific number of kills to level up, that way new players can still have a fighting chance against players who have leveled up their kits like crazy.
 
These are game modes any kid could set up. We should probably look into ways of making them more unique than just themes, such as special mechanics, special items, special kits. ETC. I'm not saying we need to be the most unique in the block, I'm just saying we should probably stand out from what an eleven year old can make in a day (minus build time)

So if we can get kit and mechanic ideas for kitpvp and mechanics for prison, then that'll make the idea much more appealing, and could attract more players.

While I'd love party games to stick to it's little cluster, it seems obvious now that this cluster of games isn't cutting it much anymore, and we need to branch out.

Another thing of note is both of these gamemodes already exist on the sister server in some capacity. (OP prison, kitpvp.)
