So it's 2:30 and I'm with my friend on Murder Zone when I hear someone joined. I go to check who it is, and it's a guy named Kermit. He begins to talk in a perfect Kermit impression.
Me and my friend are amazed, right? And then he goes on to do all different impressions from various video games. And then he comes out and says that he's Jamieson Price, a voice actor for various animes and games. I look up his wikipedia page and, to say the least, he's legit. He's worked for hundreds of titles with a career spanning nearly two decades. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jamieson_Price if you're interested.
So, he's talking about his career and doing various impressions when I ask him questions regarding how he got there. I asked him firstly because he had mentioned that his career as a voice actor wasn't what he had planned for; in fact, he had been an opera singer for six years prior. Research will show that his earliest roles were in '98, when he was 37. This interested me, being an aspiring vocalist, and having considered voice acting. I had also asked how I could establish a sustainable career in the media like he did.
Firstly, he said that his road to success was filled with twists and turns and he had never imagined that he would be where he was now. He had also said he was in no way a mainstream media name, in response to my baffled reaction of "Woah dude, you're legit like a celebrity!". After this, I said that he was surely famous in his industry, having worked for roles like Spiderman, Transformers, Naruto, etc. He then said that his demographic being prodominantly teenagers, not many people knew his name. I mean, before this encounter I didn't, and neither did my friend, who was too shocked to speak.
I had mentioned that I would spread his name so that he could have more exposure, and he wasn't surprised, in fact, he said that was the typical reaction he gets. But, after a few more impressions, he had to go, and we thanked him for his time.
TL;DR: A professional voice-actor came on my teamspeak channel.
