I feel like it should be hosted on discord because I mean it's easier to install and also why have a discord AND a teamspeak server. People are feeling kind of left out because its confusing and Im thinking you could advertise the karaoke on the discord and say to join #karaoke voice channel

I know TS users will dislike but really...

Agreed. It's much easier to install Discord and much easier to navigate. +1

I'm not very familiar with discord voice channels, so could you answer me some questions?
1. On this channel, would you be able to have it like the karaoke channel (No one can speak, and a staff member can give people talk power, the ability to speak)
2. Would there be a text channel for those who aren't singing? Most people like to talk in the muted chat of teamspeak while others are singing, and without this it would make karaoke less community-based
That's it for now

Honestly, I have to agree. Teamspeak is a hassle to install, and it’s a lot more complicated than Discord.
Karaoke has been held in the discord before, and honestly it went smoothly. Seen as it was hosted by non-staff it was a bit messy, but I’d say if we made a separate channel and had the permissions, it could actually go really well.
I’d actually really like to see this happen, or atleast see it being tried in the discord, professionally.

1. I'm pretty sure
2. You can be in a voice channel and text in another chat channel at the same time

What I meant was, would we include a separate channel for people to type in while in karaoke?

Overall, teamspeak is usually a hassle to help players install and to help them link their account, but for those that aren't in the PZ discord, it would also be a hassle to show them how to download discord (if they don't already have it) & to get them an invite. While it wouldn't be as much of a hassle, it still would be. I'll be staying neutral as personally I prefer teamspeak, however that may not be the opinion of others and that is why I am not voting -1.

That’s your opinion though. You don’t have to download Discord, you can use the website which is easier. Less of a hassle.

Yes, it is my opinion and I stated this in my response. However, I did not know there was a website, but wouldn't you need to have an account anyway? Less of a hassle, but still one.

1. Definitly, muting everyone then unmuting one person. Or simply a bot I think can do the thing idk about that.

2. Definitly possible, seperate chat channel.
...
Discord is like teamspeak yet team speak is a bit more old school an discord uses the abiltiy to be in a chat only channel or in 2 channels of chat and voice. And it has nice bots as well it looks nicer and cleaner. I can simply add a friend and comunicate to them while teamspeak I don't even think I can do that.

As said above a website exists and its pretty easy to get a account just like forums. For the giving them the link part I think the devs can send a message with a perminate link that can be broadcasted every hour or so just like they did with teamspeak back in the day.

I think this is a command because I own a server on discord but I don’t know exactly if not then a teamspeak picture guide on linking accounts and downloading it?

There already is a guide on how to link accounts, however a guide on how to download it and connect would be helpful.

Voice channels on Discord tend to lag with 30+ people in them. Therefore this doesn't really benefit the server.

I am not certain how many join a
as it has been years yet if need be I am sure the staff can limit it to be 20 players only meaning multible karaoke channels and as we get bigger I don't know if karaoke will be possible, well liked, or simply have multible voice channels. There might even be a better communicative network that is new and hip.

1. Yes. Certain roles do have the power to mute/deafen lower authority roles.

2. We do have #muted-chat for people in a call not using their mic, but I feel that if it was used in Karaoke it would be quite congested. Perhaps the managers can implement a text channel (#karaoke-muted?) which would be used specifically for people not singing.

Just to clear up some stuff -
1. When In a server for voice or text, You can make roles on discord to give Players with that Role permission to Talk/text in a specific channel. Ex- You create a role called "Karaoke" for the Karaoke channel, and to prevent others from talking in it, you go to the settings for that channel to make all roles able to join, but only a certain role can speak. Mods can give and take away the roles from people when its their turn and when it isn't.
2. In the settings for a Server, you are given the option to Create a Category, and once you do, you can put both Text and voice channels under it, so If we have a Karaoke category, we can have a channel for people singing, and people who are only typing.

Hope this clears stuff up!

That's entirely your end. Discord doesn't lag for most people until the cap is hit, so if that's a problem for you then try installing Canary or BetterDiscord.

I Stay Neutral. I do not really care if it's in Teamspeak or in Discord. Wherever it is, I will be there.

legit discord is a lot easier to use and it'd give people more reason to use it if they love to show off their voices. +10
