Inspiration is hard.

Hello, fellow PZ friends!

Basically, I'm an artist and a pianist, and I often have a LOT of trouble coming up with things to draw and songs to write. I've written a grand total of one song, and it's only 13 measures long (just an example to show you how little experience I have with writing songs. No lyrics, just simple piano).

I want to ask all of you how you find inspiration for art and/or music. I understand that this may not be relatable to any of you, so even if it's inspiration for other things like cooking, writing, etc, it can still help.

Like I said, inspiration is a bit hard for me to come by, so I just want to know what kinds of things give you guys ideas for creating art and music.

Oh boy, inspiration. I usually find it hard to get, too. What I do is I listen to music while I draw, and for every time a new song starts I save the sketch I made based on the previous song then start drawing the new one. If I get a concept that I like, then I pause the music and keep drawing. I've made entire pieces by doing this, so I encourage you to try it!

Wow, that's a great idea! I've never thought about that. I often listen to music while I draw, but quickly creating several sketches never occurred to me. I'm already drawing -- I'll try that now!

Edit: This is another reason why I should buy an iPod... creating playlists! Art benefits, woo!

idk about music i am into drums but like
you just play along and keep the rest of the ppl on time but

art idk i just draw cool stuff just look at pictures and stuff

Most of my inspiration comes from books and music, since the words/lyrics contain hidden quotes or stories. My favorite songs are upbeat, which I like to listen to when I'm feeling hopeless. My favorite book series, Warriors, contains action, decision-making, and the occasional life lesson. Most of the stories I write for fun are based off of scenes from the Warriors series.
