I'm having a problem

I think I may know what I did though. So, I rejoined minecraft FINALLY after like 5 months. Turns out, you can have a username longer than 15 characters now. I was able to join as TopThrillAnthon, but now I have a 16 character name TopThrillAnthony, and it won't let me join. Is the server slightly outdated and does not account for 16 character usernames?

The error is: Not authenticated with minecraft.net

how do I authenticate this
