ok
on the way to school, we found a lil hedgehog
we thought 'awwwww adorablleeee'

then we noticed it was bleeding..

from its eye.

and it had eggs on its back. The egg like things were skewered, so we still think that Idan was a boy.. We think he was neglected ;-; we put him in a shoe box to get him to the office

WE TOOK IT TO THE SCHOOL OFFICE WHEN WE GOT THEIR.

IN FURIOUS ABOUT THIS BTW IDK WHY

'MR -------- HAS RELEASED IT INTO THE WILD AGAIN'

WTH
IT WAS BLEEDING.
WE ASKED THEM TO CALL THE VETS // RSPCA.
IT WAS A PROTECTED SPECIES WTH
NOW IDAN IS MOST LIKELY DEAD AND ME AND MY FRIENDS ARE UPSET ;-;

you two are amaze ok
we were going to go look for him, but in maths instead of doing the actual work I actually worked out that he would have lost lots of blood when he was released. Idk if it is the same for hedgehogs as humans.. But yeah :C

All mammals can bleed out. By now he most likely is dead.

Why? That makes no sense. If he's bleeding from his eye, try to stop the bleeding and call trained veterinarians.

Alright folks, listen up.
Every animal is alive.
Take a good look at thee poor conditions in third-world countries.
Our other animal brethren are treated worse.
Even this seemingly small gesture, simply releasing an animal back into the wild, can have a great impact on the animal's family.
Idan was BLEEDING.
Yet, knowing that he was bleeding, they SENT HIM AWAY.
I honestly think that they didn't care.
He has no way of knowing what to do.
He can't stop the bleeding on his own.
Slowly dying.
Losing blood.
Most likely feeling miserable.
"Help me"
"Save me"
I'm disappointed that the school staff made such a rash decision.
It feels like we are the only living things.
We aren't.
How can humans brush this aside so nonchalantly?
Hell, I'm still sad about something from long ago. (not animal problem but charity thingy)

sorry for the emotional outburst i'm unstable
anyhoo
here's something more cheerful
idan/iden is what my uncle calls me

ik.. :C

Idan had me worrying all day. The day was really slow, and I did the worst thing possible. I named him :(

Idan was walking slightly to the side, like doing a side-step. That would explain his bleeding eye and why he was walking like that.

then we noticed that he had scratches all over his body when I picked him up, he was ok with me. But anyway, he had a big gash down his stomach, it wasn't bleeding but it had scabbed. When I put him back down for a second we noticed - again - that he was limping on his back legs. That explained the sidesteps a bit more.

During play-time, I thought about all the scratches he had. Idan was on his own, and he was quite scared of us, but he seemed fine with me after I picked him up. I thought about one possibility, but I'm not sure if hedgehogs do this: Can hedgehog parents neglect their kids or not??

If the eye was punctured or bitten and somehow it injured his inner ear, he would have been disoriented maybe explaining the sidesteps?
Any parent can neglect or abandon children, but in this case it's more likely that his parents were killed and eaten by a predator, and he had to escape.
