Sometimes the staff have personal issues they need to solve. Also, they could just want to explore the real world. Another thing is that i believe some staff that resigned are like 16+, so they might be thinking about college and what not.
 
There are many reasons that result in a member of staff resigning. There really is no set answer to that, since one member could resign for one reason and another member could resign for a completely different reason.
