Here are a few steps that can help you become successful at Survival Games

Step 1: Choose a kit that gives you protection or a weapon. This is important as it gives you a higher chance of surviving the hoards of opponents trying to kill you.

Step 2: Go for ONE middle chest. This lets you get gear and have time to flee before the grace period is up.

Step 3: Make a route for yourself. Having a route is important as you know where you are going and where the chests are around you. Do not stray from your route unless absolutely necessary .

Step 4: Collect Bandages, Health Stimpacks, and Regen Stimpacks. These items can save you in times of trouble, or can give you that extra advantage you need to beat an opponent.

Step 5: Always collect support packages. Support packages contain helpful gear which can turn the tide in a battle.

Step 6: Watch your back: Players can get the upper hand on you by sneaking up on you. To prevent that always look for names before opening a chest and don't look in them for too long.

Step 7: Chase your prey: If you start to attack someone and they run away, follow them. This eliminates competition and gets you some extra gear in the process.

Step 8: Never take on teams unless necessary. The odds are you will die. Don't do it.

Step 9: Don't rush into deathmatch. Let others kill each other off before you initiate a fight.

These 9 steps can help you greatly increase you chances to win in survival games! Good Luck and Have Fun.

~~~~~~Extra Hidden (not so hidden) Tips~~~~~~~~
1. Have a good hotbar set up. My personal hotbar is Sword:1 Bow:2 Regen:3 Health:4 Bandages:5 Food:9
2. Speed Stimpacks. These can help you lose an enemy if you are low on health.
3. Knockback Swords. These can help enemies run away bye pushing them farther away from you. They can be helpful to your escape though
~~~~~~Tips from Other Users~~~~~~

1. If you cant find food, break grass and leaves.

2. Do not try to be brave. If the other player has better gear then you don't try to take him on. Better to run away then to be dead.

3. Know the maps. Most maps have secret areas with lots of supply crates and good loot.

-Jump Boost Stimpacks are also useful since you can use them to jump over two block high obstacles instead of going around them. It saves you a lot of time when escaping.

-I use the runner kit because it helps me get out of spawn quickly and escape players with better gear than me.

-NEVER EVER open more than 2 chests at spawn before escaping.

-In Deathmatch, you can try to knock players back out of spawn. They'll bounce back and take fall damage. Do this ONLY when they are close to the boundaries. Also, keep any Stimpacks you get because they're all incredibly useful.

-Think. If a person has an Iron Chestplate, a diamond helm, chain mail boots and leggings and a diamond sword(That's the strongest set in SG) and all you have is a leather hat and a stick, you can't kill him. Bravery doesn't count. Running doesn't make you a coward.

-Always be careful when Jerm is playing with you.

If you're gonna include diamond sword in the best sg set up, you have to take into account players could also get iron or diamond boots and leggings. or even the fact they may have a sharp 1 diamond sword, by using an enchantment table :p.
Also I'd say runner boots are better than chain boots.

I agree, Jack. Runner boots are better than the chain boots just because they have feather falling on them, but my feather falling doesn't work, so it's more like running and jumping off a cliff, thinking that you will float down to the ground, but end up plummeting towards death. xD I would call it more... feather FAILing. :p

Runner boots only help me when I'm running away. They're gold so not much protection in fights. I take them off and wear chain when fighting.

leather, gold and chain boots all provide the same protection.

Feather just reduces fall damage it doesn't decrease fall speed :p

Wait what? Gold and chain are the same? (O_O)

How is that possible? Everyone knows that chain is made of iron. How in the world......?

Chain and gold boots are the same thing, pretty much, just made out of different material.

leather, gold and chain boots all provide the same protection.

I didn't know that. xD Thanks. :p

This is awesome, lots of detail :3

I'd add know the maps. Most of them have "secret" areas with a LOT of loot, and if you go there, you're set for the whole game.

On Outpost, I know most of the traps on there, and how to get out of them, or at least not die from them. :p

Yea you need to learn the maps to be good to I always use the horse kit i take 3 chests at spawn Rush with my horse to a safe spot Sort out my inventory and Go with my horse to loot chests :) Das My way

I make sure that I have 1 route planned for each map, since I know where everything is. Traps, chests, crafting benches and furnaces. I know where the hidden chests are, too. I always choose either butcher, runner, or knight, since they provide either protection or a weapon.

I don't do mid chests, and thus i have a bunch of different routes based on where i spawn rather than just one per map.

I might get one middle chest, and if I don't, I go to my places that I know for sure have chests. I know where there are crafting benches and furnaces. ^.^

BE VERY CAREFUL - I managed to end up in a room full of lava parkour. I reaaaaaalllyyy suck at parkour -_-
