Rejected Hiding rank for games

So in murder before all the "fun" new systems the ranks went from 1 to infinity and were shown when typed. Now more privacy is in place besides from ranks 1-96 I believe. You can show your rank yet what if I am in the 1-96 and my rank hidden? This goes for all minigames.

What I suggest implementing is the option to show your rank in the sign room areas this includes games played,rank, win rate, and all the other things.

Privacy is a pretty nice thing to have. Everyone should have the ability to hide their stuff.

I'm not sure that this will be used all that often, yeah privacy is important to people but hiding ranks aren't that private because its a rank and people would know if that person has a rank or not. Plus if they don't want to be talked to or anything like that they can do /nomsg. Normal players don't get that much attention anyways that they have to be scared to hide there rank.

I see a plus point of this, but in general it's not necessary for us to hide the rank. Few people would prefer not show it but I'd say it's not that big of a deal, ofcourse maybe we could have a toggle, I'll stay neutral till I hear other opinions.

Other players who may not be ranked 1-96 may want to visually see how they can achieve that type of status.

Being able to visually see who is high ranked, gameplay and win ratio can inspire players to achieve that level.
Players who are in the 1-96 rank and decide not to show it kind of defeats the purpose of that.

This is an assumption, but some players who have worked hard enough to reach ranks 1-96 aren't going to just hide it. After all, they spent so much time getting there. For an example, I am rank 9 in Murder and I've never had anyone message me about it. I don't feel uncomfortable knowing that there are signs with my username and rank on it. This may be different for others, but it's just a personal view.

I agree privacy is a nice thing to have, but in these circumstances, it's not really a necessary thing to add as a feature.

These are only my personal views and opinions. Again, I appreciate your suggestion and points made.

The most replies I am getting is that it's necessary which in my opinion is not that great of a reason to down vote it.

@cat Well it might be to other's benefit but in the end it goes to the player's decision if they want someone to look at their game-play views or simply show their rank. I hide how I play a lot because Its better not have 20 players playing how I do. Before you had no choice to show or not show your rank it was just displayed by your name. It was alright yet it is certainly nice to hide it. For myself personally I am getting close to 96 as well I am number 2 for most games played so I would like to hide it and as problems with the leader-board are currently happening it seems like a good time to do this. I agree it certainly was nice to look at other even though the leader-board is completely incorrect to some standards. Such as Prisonbop was great to see as I see how he approaches situations and all that. Sadly the leader-board isn't that great for information anymore as most rank 1 to 200 played are definitely in at least half of your current games.

I get that its not a necessary feature yet information is information the less the better to give. As well cosmetics can be said not needed yet still nice to have. I don't know how this will work as I know how to make a switch yet don't know how the leader-board works. I would assume a filter will be used and blank or Private(In green or a different color) will be shown on empty placements. My point here is that it could be just 30 minutes of work or less to implement this without the gui stuff. And finally adding a settings with options would be nice to have such as the firework on or off for murder would be nice to have in there. New party or club options could be shown there was well.

Thank you for suggestion. Upon review, the team has decided to not implement this suggestion. This is namely due to such a suggestion defeating the point of the leader boards, which is what you're describing.
