This is a short story that speaks for itself. It's a bit of a rough draft. Word choice may be a bit off, so hang with me here!
[EDIT] Whoops forgot disclaimer... DARK THEMES

I awaken to sunlight streaming through my window, dazed and confused, I glanced at my alarm clock. I had ten minutes to get to school. I groaned inwardly, as this was quite unusual, if I ever overslept, my mom would normally wake me up. Practically throwing clothes on, I rushed downstairs, about to call out her mom's name, when I saw her, with red, puffy eyes, she was staring at a photograph of herself, my father, and I. My father had died a few months earlier, so I decided to sneak out to school, I wanted to leave my mother in peace. I was practically sprinting by the time I was close to the school. Out of breath, I walked into my first-period class, I ended up about three to four minutes late, I realized someone was in my original seat, so I headed towards the back of the class. I tapped on the person's shoulder in front of me, I intended to ask for a pencil, but they just downright ignored me. I gave out a sigh, I could tell this wasn't going to be my day. Mr. Coleman, our teacher, stepped into the middle of the room, with sadness showing on his features. "Yesterday, as most of you know, Jane Lounge died, if any of you need to talk to the counsel-". I could barely hear him any more,
the blood rushed through my ears, and everything came rushing back to my mind.
The pills.
The yells of my mother.
The sirens.
I began to scream, "Let me go back! I need another chance! It was just too much...it was all too much." . I broke down in the middle of the room, I cried, pleaded, but now, all I see is black.
