It’s that wonderful time of year again, and I’m sure all of you are preparing for Halloween!
@Liillii and I have prepared a little guide on last minute costume ideas, creative tricks and treats, and much more! Read to the end to enter into our Halloween giveaway!
Have you been procrastinating and don’t have any time to make your costume now? Here’s a few quick and easy ones to pull together at the last minute, for relatively cheap as well!
Emoji Costumes
This can be done for pretty much any emoji, just as long as you’re willing to hold that pose for the entire night! Find a solid color shirt and a skirt or trousers and pick an emoji that fits you the best. If you’re going with a friend or partner, you can even use this as a group costume with them.
Breadwinner Costume
This one’s a bit of a play on words... get yourself some sweatpants or other running gear and a sweatband. Throw some medals on and grab a few loaves of bread from the bakery or just your kitchen, and there you go!
Ice Cream Cone
This one might take a bit of extra effort. Buy a white dress off amazon (or just get one from your closet), and pick up some popsicles with multicolored popsicle sticks. You’ll have to eat all the popsicles off of the sticks if you want to go for that option, or you can just buy the popsicle sticks on their own. Stick the popsicle sticks to the dress and grab some brown paper. Wrap the brown paper into the shape of a cone and stick it on your head, you may want to stick it to a headband so it doesn’t fall off quite so easily as well.
Whether you want to be a little extra this halloween, or just want to add a creative flare to some treats, why not make your own halloween treat bag to give out to trick or treaters.
This website has a few cool examples of super neat candy bags to give out to your friends, or to little kids knocking at your door.
If you can’t be bothered reading that whole thing, and just want a simple and easy way to make one, follow the instructions below:
- Go to a local grocery shop or party store and grab some of those small party favor bags (the plastic ones with the small designs on). Bonus points if you can find some halloween themed ones.
2. Depending on how much candy you usually give out, buy as many of the party favor bags as needed, and whatever halloween candy you usually get.
3. Put 3-5, or more depending on how generous you are, pieces of candy in each of the bags.
4. Tie each one with an orange or black piece of ribbon.
5. Throw all of them in a candy bowl and stick it by your front door.
If you’re like me and always have leftover halloween candy, why not try something like one of these recipes to turn supermarket candy into a home-made dessert!
Reese’s Stuffed Pie
If you’ve found yourself with a ton of leftover Reese’s cups or Reese’s pieces, check out this recipe on how to make a delicious peanut butter pie.
Trash Bark
It’s not actually trash, despite what the name makes it sound like. This is the only recipe I have personally tried and I can tell you it’s sure worth it. Click here to read more!
Kit Kat Stuffed Brownies
If you’re like me and can’t resist some chunky brownies, this might be the recipe for you. Click here for more information on how to turn your (already amazing) kit kats into an even better brownie.
Candy Bar Pie
If you’re looking to get rid of a variety of different candies, this might be the recipe for you. Stuff your favorite leftovers into a delicious blondie pie and stick some ice cream and fudge on there too.
We all love to make our lives just a bit easier. Here’s a few tricks to make the most out of your halloween night:
1
If you’re wanting to carve pumpkins early in October, but want them to last till after Halloween, this is the tip for you. Just clear out some space in your fridge and stick the pumpkin in there to stop it from rotting!
2
Want more candy? Carry around two bags or pillowcases, with one being nearly empty. When you knock on a door, present the empty one and most will give you a bit extra!
3
If you really, really want that candy, try this well-known trick. Carry around another relatively simple halloween costume that you can easily change into. Go to the first house in your first costume, get changed and go back again. If you’re that much of a prankster, try even more than two costumes to get even triple the amount of candy.
Because I’m not personally a huge fan of horror movies, I don’t have much of a recommendation myself, though the internet sure does. Here’s a list of a few ones you may have heard of!
