I don’t know about you guys but when i login to the forums I loved to see notifications I loved to go into the general tab and off topic tab and see what everyone is talking about but that’s just not the case anymore and it’s so depressing. I go into those sections now and see the top post was the post I read last week with nothing new what so ever and its just so freaking depressing I remember when this server had new posts everyday every night the server was flourishing and it’s gone now and it freaking sucks. Like it makes me question why I stay here and stick around like I’ve been waiting for change but I’m not seeing it and I’m just so tired of waiting. None of my friends are still here, everyone here mainly are a bunch of mini mods and just 11 year olds and I just feel like I don’t wanna be here anymore for it. Just a little rant and possibly a wake up call.

It only makes sense. First the server and now the forums, it'll be the discord next. (We don't discuss the teamspeak here)

It is quite saddening to see PZ' playerbase drop so drastically considering we used to have so many people on all the time, but there doesn't seem to be many options when it comes to reviving PZ. I'm just thankful that people stick around despite how little there is to do

PZ lost it's Spark a long time ago. But only now people start to see it.
I know like I’ve said they’ve been trying to revive the server and it just isn’t happening

My personal theory is just that the PZ isn't the same anymore. First we had Gigo, Dizzeh, GreenUprooter, ETC. But now? It's just a whole mess in my opinion.

Quite frankly, you're expecting it to go back to exactly as it was years ago. Nostalgia for what once was of this network is only going to set you up for disappointment. This isn't the PZ it was 3 years ago, and there's no changing that. What PZ was back then wasn't just what was on the server or site, it was the culmination of the people, servers and community that made it what it was. Times change and people move on, that's the very nature of us as people. I don't know what exactly you're expecting from the team and me, but what I can say is we're not going to be able to give you what you're expecting simply because again, it was more than just what's on the server. Either see PZ for what it is now and not what it was or disappoint yourself because it won't live up to what you want it to be.

omggggg i completely agree. the team cant just snap their fingers and bring a bunch of people onto the server like everyone is assuming you can. there isnt anything wrong with the server at all. we could though, partner with a server, or someone who can bring more people. Advertise, and not just stay secluded where we are as PZ right now

First I would just like to say I’m not begging for anything to happen I’m tired of begging for things to go back because I’ll just be getting my hopes up, I was just giving my stand point of things and how it used to be and that was just me reminiscing and Now by no means am I saying you guys are just going to change it back to the way things used to be in a snap of a finger what so ever but PZ’s downfall was because of PZ staff itself. Also yes I understand that things die off but the way it did just didn’t make sense to me. How can you be such a successful server the year prior to the next just a complete ghost town?
The reason for making this thread wasn’t to beg for people to come back but was more of a wake up call to myself that it’s not and others who are like me and expecting it to as well, and by no means is anything harsh directed towards you but idk if you “purchased” the server or whatever but you obviously thought you could do something to make a spark happen and light the way for new fans and I respect you lots for that. But why haven’t you yet. I also respect you for actually replying to these threads because I never see any other staff members do it. Just a final thank you for reading it and giving your view on it. Also I’m sure my stupid selfish self might of hopefully Gave you sort of a wake up call as well.

Well simply put, noble, nor anyone else, can not just obtain ownership of the network and be like "ok look at this hit new gamemode everyone show up"

The sparking incident that brought pz on the map in the first place was due to how many big youtubers were pulled into murder on partyzone, and were generlaly out and about playing minigames on servers that weren't just their own, or their buddies, like it seems most are now. It'd be difficult to near impossible to convince enough big youtubers to show up again just to even give us a sliver of such a rush in player counts.

That said, Noble is trying. As evidenced by his currently public attempts to repair and improve murder (As listed here)

It is not very simple to just come up with new games, but there is work being done, as seen with murder.

As for the forums, it's just an unfortunate side effect of the community side of minecraft dying out. The more the server grows and expands, the more people that will show up. Unfortunately, people grow up, move on. It's something we'll all have to deal with eventually.

I totally disagree with the big youtuber thing pulling people into the server, those “big youtubers” didn’t get many views at all. Sure they pulled people in but not many, it was more of people telling their friends to get on the server and play and that’s 100% fact I can count at least 10 people I told to get on. I met friends of people that already played that they told to get on. Partyzone was just a fun server for people it didn’t need little YouTube publicity to become popular. Around the time of massacre the server got so popular because people wanted their friends to play with them.

I think one of the reasons why a lot of us think this (me included) is because our friends who were here years ago arent anymore. I remember when i would log on everyday and have soo many notifcations; but most of them were from my friends. Yes, it has died down a whole lot and its sad, but its still here. Who knows, it might climb back up.

I remember spending hours reading the new stories that appeared or the rants that i found interesting or the hilariously stupid off topic conversations. Its not the same anymore. But thats okay

The reason I joined is because my cousin showed me the server. I’d definitely agree with the statement that people were pulled here because of friends. I also get the feeling that there used to be a fair amount of people playing here because of the youtubers that played. When I was staff for a couple months last year I probably saw a Youtuber on like two times, I don’t even know if they were recording.

Also would like to note that during the first couple months of Gaurav’s ownership we hit close to 500 people again. During that time we had a bunch of new smaller channels coming in on the server.

With all that said, I think the server is alive today because of people telling their friends about it, and it could grow again with consistent Youtuber activity.

From what I've been made aware of, not a lot was done after the initial success of the network which ultimately led to the stagnation that's plagued the network ever since (minus the small instances where we had a lot of people on through that time). It was supposedly a lack of direction for where the network was going that caused fewer things to be done which led to where we ended up. Whether that's 100% the case is not for me to decide as I wasn't there for a lot of that time. What I can say is that with the persistent issues that were never fixed such as constant crashing and people being unable to access servers, that would have played a huge part in causing a downward spiral.

While I did purchase the network, I had my reasons to do so. In my initial conversations with people when I first took over, I told everyone how I could have just ignored PartyZone and only purchased Neme which for the most part would have been the financially responsible thing to do. The reason I didn't do that was simply down to the fact that I see more of my old network in PartyZone than I do Neme. I took on the responsibility of PartyZone because it's a hell of a lot more familiar to me than Neme ever was primarily because of its community. With that said, I also didn't want to rush into things and just throw out change after change with minimal testing.

From November to now, we've been working on v2 which includes most aspects of PartyZone (Creative, Elite Survival, Lobby, and Murder). For example, Murder had to be remade from the ground up in order to get it working with v2, and Elite Survival will have its own update and announcement soon. However, once v2 is out, a massive strain will be taken off of the development team because from that point on, we'll have a basis to go off of and build upon, which I hope will result in quicker turnaround times for future updates. It's been a huge bottleneck for all of us, but without it, we won't be able to do the updates we want to do down the line.

At the end of the day, we're not doing this work for ourselves, we're doing it for those of you that play. Whether you stopped playing and were considering coming back at some point, or whether you're still playing to this day or even just joining us, we're doing this for you. From originally being a person that would play PartyZone every now and then several years ago to now being in charge of it, I don't want to see a network like this go under, and I'll be doing my damnedest to make sure that doesn't happen. Whether that happens or not is yet to be seen, only time will tell.

I love that you are working so hard to make a v2 of this server, and also decided in the first place to take it over :) thanks for persisting
