How can I select multiple blocks of text in a thread? I'm trying to write a quick story with alternating formats and it's going to take a very long time if I have to change the format manually at every line.

To be more specific, I want to write out the story and then select all parts that need to be formatted in a specific way. How can I do this?

If you are talking about highlighting sections of text that are not next to each other, this is impossible. If you are talking about highlighting a section of text that is linked together, then simply left click and drag to select the text, and then set the formatting.
