Ambbie suggestion

"I think players with E+ should have access to colouring signs but not chat."

Keep in mind that the player Ambbie has asked me to make this suggestion for her. The forums were not working for her so she asked me to do put it for her. If you have questions about the suggestion ask Ambbie.

I remember this thread being suggested before here.
This was ages ago though, but at the same time, it suggested coloured chat and signs.

I honestly think coloured signs would be a nice perk to have for E+. The only problems that could occur are:
• Fraud - someone attempts to fake a staff members signature.
As someone said on the last thread
“Coloured signs are only for staff, because it makes our texts stand out. As I mentioned before.. Before suggesting that a staff perk becomes a ranked perk, think of reasons why it wasn't a ranked perk in the first place. I do not like the idea that ranked players get staff perks.” And
“Adding onto that, staff use coloured signs for important stuff too. If Elite, Elite+ were able to use coloured signs they could start trolling. There is no need for colour codes to become available to Elites and Elite+'s.”

( Quotes from @Etgar and @Kona )

• Complaints - People find it unfair that only E+ get this. ( Though no matter what, every suggestion will receive a complaint )
-
Though honestly now, seen as that thread didn’t really get discussed much further, I think this would be nice.
If someone copies all of these staff signatures and place warnings through a sign on a plot about an inappropriate build (Some staff do it ), you can report it.

( Quote from @/Breadstickk )

“I believe that players should get coloured signs, my reason being that I don't think staff should just get colours signs because it makes theirs "stand out" as they only really use it when they are signing others plots, so I believe it would be a good idea as it will help make our plots more creative and colourful.”

I stand by that, +1

We need it for other reasons that I will not state. In which could be forged. Plus a player may say its forged and it may not be, which will result in a billion false grief reports..

I heavily disagree with this as it makes the idea of collecting staff signatures a matter of just making signatures yourself

However if it were to be implemented, maybe staff members could keep formatting exclusive (italics, bold, etc)

I still remain about my statement from the last thread about this.

"Maybe instead of colored signs, we get the Bold, Italic and Underlined sign commands."

Staff have access to coloured/formatted signs for, not only for signing plots, but for completing staff duties (that will not be started here due to it being private staff information)- if ELITE+ had access to coloured signs these duties could easily be forged.

However, I do believe players should have access to bold, underlined and italic signs- as staffs’ signs could be easily recognised due to their colours.

I like that. But I’m just seeing more cons and pros that are just confusing my tiny human brain. Mostly due to over thinking.

Changing to neutral.

No, it's so obvious why, others already stated

If players could use underline, bold & italics, that would mean the signs that staff have placed down (that have not been seen yet) might be thought of as fake. Basically, if I placed a sign like "AFK pools are not allowed on creative &l~PZ Staff", and then the player logged on after players could use bold, underline & italics, the player may think it's just from an E+ and there's no proof that they can find that it was actually from a staff member, so they just ignore it. Hope that made sense.

Despite this being a valid point, we could get around that via placing coloured signs.

Also if its a Closed Plot/No one added to the plot. They will (might) know that it was a staff that placed it

What I meant was if players haven't logged on for a while, and a staff member had left a sign with bold (before E+s could use this, so they used bold instead of color), the player could think it was from an E+ and wouldn't listen to it.

While this is a good point, what happens in all the cases when it's not?

You’re a pessimist.

Whelp, this is kinda all I have to say. The colored sign thing should stay as it is for staff only for reasons that are stated up there ^
So ya..

Thank you for your suggestion. I am happy to announce to those unaware that the VIP+ rank (and those above it) can now use colored signs.

Thread locked and adjusted.
