My friend wants to join the forums, he plays on the server but he wants to know if he has to link his account or if he can leave it un linked?
 
You can leave your account unlinked to join, however, if they leave it unlinked other users cannot see their IGN, they won't be able to apply for Helper, and they won't be able to start conversations with other users.
