I've been writing a lot recently. I'm also reading the book "Divergent" in my English class. Let's say the book gave me some inspiration. So this story is about this girl named Alexa Anvil and her thinking that she doesn't belong in her city 'Divine'. There are 2 cities, The upper half is Divine and the lower half is this place called Una. These Cities are what make up Arizona in the time this book is set in. I hope you like it!

Chapter 1

-}{-

September 19th, the year is 2035. I live in upper Arizona, over the years Arizona has been split into two sections. We call the upper half Divine and the lower half Una. Every person in their area are the same. Divine people are brave, fearless, honest, and the most daring people ever. Una people are intelligent, artistic, funny, and the most friendliest people ever. I wish that I could live over there. More peaceful then Divine. I just have to live another year before I can move somewhere else. Everyone thats 18 takes a test, a test to see what percentage of Intelligence, Bravery, Fearless, Honesty, Humor, Daring, Artistic, and how Friendly you are. Seems stupid, I know. People do this every 18 years, just to keep their percentages updated. It’s annoying how this works, they put you in a room filled with people. You don’t know anything about anyone in that room. About 100 people in that room each year. They sort you by your age, 18, 36, 54, and so on, if you make it past 54. I hear that people that are 108 still can walk and hear these days. Amazing right? Anyways, you get asked 80 questions, 10 for each personality trait. You see, I’m not exactly like anyone in Divine or Una. I’m a mix of everything you may say. My name is simple, but I’m not that simple like every Divine, everyone has a simple name here. People that I meet say I should belong in Una, I agree, but my name should not belong in Una. See my name is Alexa Grace Anvil, it might seem that it’s not a common name, it is. I’ve meet at least five other people with my name, Alexa. People from Una are named like Arrow, Jet, Falcon. More interesting names then Alexa, Ash, or Tate.

The two sections have different lifestyle also. Divine is more lower class, okay neighborhoods, okay schools. The roads here are all cracked and we don’t have high rise roads anymore like Arizona used to have. The only good part about Divine are the people. Una on the other hand is your picture perfect area. Amazing people, high rise roads, great neighborhoods, fantastic schools. But most people who take the test don’t get in there. Even though it’s highly populated, you need to have good grades and a high percentage. I honestly hope that next year I would be able to move to Una. Get a decent job and house. I want to get married one day, but not after I just get settled in Una, if I even move there. It’s the scariest thing ever to get your scores the next day after the test. My older Brother and Sister panicked that day. One could move to Una and the other had to stay, in Divine. You think that they would stay together to support each other. My older Brother abandoned our sister alone in Divine. I can’t imagine how terrible that was. My family all has dark brown hair with that flawless carabin skin tone, the prettiest hazel eyes ever. Everyone thinks of us as the respected family in Divine. Are we though? I honestly don’t have a clue, for generations people thought of the Anvils as this wealthy family. We aren’t though, it’s hard trying to have this so called “legacy” following you around everywhere you go. I don’t think about it that often though. My best friend Ashton thinks its stupid also, I’m sad we won’t be taking the test together. His birthday is in May, on the second, while mine is on the first of the same month. Once It’s your birthday, you celebrate. Then the next day you go and take your test. Hopefully we get to move to Una together…. I just hope we do.

My sister Ally, the youngest of our family, has the best IQ of everyone in this house. I won’t be shocked if she could live to Una when she’s older. It’s just a matter of time, more like two years.
