I think the Discord Staff should have in game ranks, just like MOD and HELPER's do. For example, Discord Moderators could be D-MOD, And the Discord Trainee's could be D-TRAINEE. This is just a suggestion, and will probably get denied. The purpose of this suggestion is to make them actually have something to be proud of (Don't take this personally). I am open to other suggestions if possible. I am also accepting the fact that this probably will never happen. I'm just suggesting this also because I felt bad that the Discord Moderator's and Trainee's don't have a way to show that they are a Trainee or Moderator (For Discord). If this were to happen, the Discord Trainee's and Moderators would not have the same abilities as the standard MOD and HELPER. For example, the Trainee is like the HELPER, but cannot warn people for rudeness, and cannot kick them from the server itself. The D-MOD should have things like, if it cannot reach people that is in discord, then they can reach them on the server, and potentially mute them on the server, or the Discord. Again, this will probably get rejected, but it doesn't matter to me. As long as they've read it, it could be on their mind.

This is like the INSIGHTS tag for insights leader. I really want this to be implemented because I feel as if Discord trainee's aren't thought of as staff, they are thought of as just... there. I think the tag isn't needed, but I think it should be implemented. It wouldn't be that hard since we have a Insights tag. I think it should be purple, like the colours in Discord.

They are called the DISCORD Staff.
Obviously that literally says what it means, they're the staff for the Discord. Not the in-game server.

I don’t think this is necessary. Ranks are made for permission purposes (such as the Insights rank allows leaders special forum permissions and other things). Ranks are not made just to specifically identify people, discord staff only need a rank on the discord because that is the platform they moderate. If someone needs to contact one of them, they can look at the discord staff list and contact them there. Having a rank for discord staff just isn’t necessary, as we don’t have ranks just for credit purposes. (Plus, it could confuse people and make them think they are network moderators).

What about managers?

Either way, we moderate the discord, and the discord alone. There is no need for us to have an in-game rank. Yes, Insights have one, but there’s only, like, five of them- and they actually are involved in-game. A whole staff team would be an issue to add in-game and is pointless as we have absolutely no need for it. We do our job, separately for the most part, to pz staff.
We apply for discord staff, which is not the same as pz staff. We shouldn’t have the same abilities as staff, if this were to even be implemented. Plus, a lot of the players are under 13, and this goes against staff requirements. Why should people who have a job unrelated to a Minecraft server suddenly be allowed moderate a whole server which deals with different issues, and be able to skip a lot of the requirements?

Adding on, Trainees aren’t just there. They are extremely important and are the training stage of moderation. They still have a very important job. Just like how helpers are at the training stage of moderators. They are 100% still staff. Just because they don’t have a moderator tag, doesn’t make them any less that. They do so much work- but if you believe they’re underperforming, I’d recommend messaging myself or another discord manager.

I feel like they should stay on Discord and have no relationship to any extra perks in-game, like @Julesable has Helper that is basically in game and Discord Manager (You are an amazing manager for that genre of server Jules) so yeah, no in game rank needed. :)

Ranks are usually designed for perks. Builders of course need em to go to the build server, insights well the leaders are usually a good source for information.

Discord staff I believe were added specifically because the staff in game won't be able to monitor 3 to 4 things. So discord staff allows it to be monitored.

This isn't really needed, it'll just be too much work for developers. Discord staff are staff specifically for the discord, therefore it's pointless having a rank on the server. Whereas staff (as in helpers and mods) are staff on the discord and server.

Discord staff exist because the server was originally unofficial and was owned by random players who made a discord staff system. As it did extremely well, it was continued when the server was made official.

yes, yet why keep adding new dc staff then, there is a reason for that.

Because at the same time, more discord staff are dropping off, wether it's resigning or getting demoted.

It's a nice gesture but I find this to be unnecessary.

If someone applies specifically for a spot on the Discord moderation team, then that is all they are expecting to be moderating. If they wanted to gain moderation powers on the server itself then they would simply choose to apply for Helper, as that also gives Discord moderation powers. Giving them their own rank in-game doesn't really serve a purpose imo.

I could only see something like this being implemented for the managers ( a "Discord" tag ), but then again it's not really necessary. They are responsible for managing the discord, they receive their recognition on there. The same goes for discord mods/trainees. Their recognition is given to them on the discord. Just seems unnecessary to add any more ranks/recognition for them in my opinion.

Discord Staff.

First of all, I’d like to thank-you for suggesting this; suggestions can really improve the network, so thank-you.

I’m going to have to disagree with this idea for the following reasons;
  • It’s not necessary, the discord moderation team would not have any additional permissions, so a rank would be pointless; it’d just make tab even more messy. The only reason other roles have ranks is because they require additional permissions.
  • You stated this rank should be implemented so the discord staff ‘actually have something to be proud of’, this factor is completely invalid. Discord staff should not apply because they want to show off a nice rank, they should apply because they genuinely want to help the server; if they only wanted a rank, they would not be on the team at all, so this is not an issue.
