I know this has been suggested before, but I believe I have a compromise for the problem of not having enough staff.
---
As you may know, many players have wanted a discord server for Party Zone for a very long time, although it has not been added yet as the server's staff wouldn't be able to moderate in-game situation, teamspeak situations, and manage a discord server.

I believe a solution to this problem would simply be: Have a new staff rank in discord ONLY, where any premium rank can apply. This would help the staff team tremendously if they wanted a discord server.

The players accepted will be given a rank, and set to moderate and manage the discord server. The actual staff may still moderate the discord, but do not have any set responsibilities.

You may ask, "who will accept or deny each application"? Im glad you asked. A few moderators, maybe two or three, will be chosen to be the discord's 'senior mods' . They will run through the first few batches of applications accepting or denying all of them, for a few weeks. After 2-3 weeks their responsibilities will be taken away, and given to some of the discord staff members. If ever a discord staff member becomes an actual staff member, they will have to prove they can handle all responsibilities, or their discord staff responsibilities will be taken away.

---

Now onto the actual server. There will be a discord rank for each in-forum rank. Default, VIP, VIP+, ELITE, ELITE+, HIPSTER, BUILDER, HELPER, MODERATOR, SR. MODERATOR ADMIN, and OWNER.
All ranks will receive one chat room, a commands chat room, and a graphics chat room, and three voice rooms, and two music rooms.
All premium ranks will receive one chat room, and two regular voice rooms, and one music room.
ELITEs on up will revive one chat room, and two voice rooms.
HIPSTERs on up will receive one chat room, and one voice room.
BUILDERs will receive one chat room, and one voice room.
HELPERs will receive one chat room, and two voice rooms.
MODERATORs on up shall revive the same as HELPERs.
SR. MODERATORs will receive the same.
ADMINs the same as well.

Please vote +1 or -1, and give me suggestions to add or change in my thread.

Part 1 (I believe a solution to this problem would simply be: Have a new staff rank in discord ONLY, where any premium rank can apply. This would help the staff team tremendously if they wanted a discord server.)

Part 2 (The players accepted will be given a rank, and set to moderate and manage the discord server. The actual staff may still moderate the discord, but do not have any set responsibilities.)

Part 1 +1
Part 2 +1
...
Part 3 ehh my input

Moderators could be biased and would take up their time even if it's for a limited time. It's better to keep it the way becoming a staff member is. Everything else just eh.
...
Also there is another reason why it wasn't accepted in the past. There isn't a lot of players on the forums and teamspeak.

I mean they staff will more than likely reject this because it's apparently so much work to moderate and create a discord server, even though you can get Dyno, Mee6, and Tatsumaki to do pretty much all the work. I don't see why they haven't shut down the Teamspeak yet, since the platform is pretty much dead and outdated. With Discord, it can actually draw attention to the server through advertising sites. It's an additional method of advertising, and it's extremely effective. People would be much more likely to interact with each other, whether it be text or voice. It's just better than TS3, or any platform for that matter.

Teamspeak is kind of confusing to use at first glance, and that's probably why it doesn't have many people on it anymore. As staff on another server that used to have TS3, when we switched over to Discord completely, the activity skyrocketed.

As much as it would be nice to have this happen, it's far too much work to invite a few bots, set up perms and roles, and add a widget to the site that would ultimately attract more players.

Having an official PartyZone discord server would be great but there are only a few issues. The Unofficial PartyZone Discord has gotten extremely large over the past few months and if PZ were to make their official discord the Owners of the unoffical discord could possibly be upset that PZ has taken over something that they created. Having an official discord was mentioned many times when I was staff on the event team, but another one of the main concerns was it would also be hard to get staff to constantly moderate the network, teamspeak, forums and then additionally a discord server.

What about ending teamspeak? Is that a possibility since it seems that people say it's pretty dead.
It is pretty dead, you aren't wrong there. The only way they would end teamspeak was if they had an official discord with voice channels. But even then, maybe they will keep it for other reasons, not sure and not my decision :p.

This is a good idea, but a few flaws.
If there were enough people qualified to be staff on any pz hosted thing they'd be staff on pz itself.
So not much will change with discord specialty ranks.

The whole point of this thread is to give the discord its own staff, as for the unofficial discord, I'm not on the staff there so I don't know. But they could always change their name and stay a community. Or that could become the official one.

Well, there actually are plenty of people willing to become staff, except they may not want the responsibilities. There may also be a few people ready for helper, but not ready for moderator, this may be a good place for them.

You do realize helper is a mod, just under surveillance so pz can see if they're actually mod material.
The responsibilities thing is a good point though, but then why would they want the responsibility of a discord server?
And so the circle continues.

A helper is what you said yes, but there is much more responsibility with the mod rank, and not every helper is ready for that.

The responsibilities on a discord server may be similar to what is for a helper. There could be actual mod surpervisors to keep all the discord staff in check regardless.

Uh, no. Discord and Minecraft are very different. Literally the only job of a staff member is to break up arguments if necessary, delete inappropriate pictures, and to handle raids (which don't happen often, and they're easy to take care of). If they set up the bots right, then they can get a chat filter up that does half the work for them. It doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure out how to moderate Discord, nor is it difficult. The staff can handle it just fine. Worst comes to worse, someone pings an online staff member.

I have no idea why you think a separate rank is needed for Discord, or why it's necessary.

I disagree with this thread as well as we already have teamspeak and it's not just as easy to shut it down, we would lose money, etc.

Discord unlike teamspeak doesn't come with it's own text chat for each voice channel this in itself will be a problem for the majority of people who do not speak at all. And yes we could create them but teampspeak doesn't save the conversations and whatnot.

If we were ever to create an official Discord, we would not have a discord staff rank, if someone is not getting staff on all parts of the network, it could mean that they are not mature enough or other qualities that staff members have to have. If in the unlikely chance that does happen the leadership team (The Senior Moderators and myself of the actual staff team) would decide who receives this rank and who doesn't.

Finally, this has heen rejected before for the reason that forums and teamspeak are not used enough for is to want to open a new part of the network, this issue still stands.

Rejecting Suggestion
