Hey guys, been a while since I've been on here. I log on. and I note that there are only THIRTY NINE people online. That's a major drop in players. Ever since bad things happened, I believe staff and production on the server has been slowed. I'm not saying it's stopped, however with less people behind the scenes, things cannot be produced quicker. I do think that if in the applications tab, you could apply for developer, or an apprentice or something closely related, it'd help. Obviously, more developers, more people behind the scenes, increase in production, right? Well, that's great and all, but some person that has the talent to develop and code and stuff like that, could just show off and get a high position like developer. So that's just 1 con. I'd like you guys to expand this suggestion a little below, but you'd need some way to prove that they're trust worthy. Possibly, have them, if accepted, before giving them access to console and other things, make them agree when suggesting to give something that if they do mess something up on purpose, we could use against them. Contract would be to hard. Can't install an Remote Access Tool on their computer. What could you do?! Well, you could make them give you access to their social media accounts, and have them agree before submitting their application. Or, if they're developing, just have them write the code and send it to the head devs or the owner, not giving them access to console etc. until they're proven trust worthy. Of course, these would have to be checked by developers or admins. Possible Sr.Moderators but I believe Admins or Developers would be a better choice. So, just a summary of the pros and cons. EXPAND ON THIS SUGGESTION IN THE COMMENTS. DON'T FORGET TO RATE IT DON'T IMPLEMENT OR SHOULD IMPLEMENT. SHARE IT WITH FRIENDS. IF YOU FEEL AS IF SOMETHING WAS LEFT OUT, ADD IT!
Pros:
  • Extra development behind the scenes
  • Possible increase in population
  • More 'clout' for developers that staff like Admins have
  • A chance to really revive the whole community

Cons:
  • Might have to pay developers, which wouldn't help the servers already loss of money due to loss of players.
  • If access is given to the wrong people, bad things may happen... again. I suggest making them write the code by themselves then give it to head devs or the owner for them to implement it.

Hmm, I have mixed feelings about this. Mostly positive though. Yes, it could and would increase the population in the server. But I think only people with high levels of trust and respect should be able to tryout. Otherwise, it may fall into the wrong hand and cause chaos. But I'm sure the staff team will know who to pick and who not to pick. +1.

They would just have the developer tag, and the developers now would have HEADDEV tag. All they would do is write code on a note pad or in a console of their own on a mincraft server to test, than email or somehow give it to a HEADDEV like MorphicDream.

Server activity is closer to normal during the weekends, and other breaks from school. While not up to what it used to be during the summer, it still is a base to go off of.

In a previous thread with the same topic (went cold) I had an adverse reaction to the idea, as it could possibly waste the time of the admins and owner. However, at this point, devs aren't the easiest thing to come by, and while any member who thinks they have what it takes can contact an admin/the owner about it, broadcasting it more may prove useful. However it would need to be formatted in such a way to ensure proficiency

Yeah, but "normal" these days is still approximately 100 or less, from what I've seen.

We'll definitely be looking to up the number of developers we have in the coming future. At the moment, there isn't a set priority due to stuff going on behind the scenes, but this will be changing within the next week or so. I can't say just yet what's going on, but everyone will be made aware of it when it does happen.

In regards to your overall suggestion, it's definitely something we can look into doing after what I mentioned above is sorted.

Do you? They picked a developer who stole bank details.

Please just post here to contribute to the post, not to say something bad about someone elses post. Thanks.
