New Gametype Defense.

This is based off of tower defense...
its a 1v1 kinda game unless it would work with 4 or more players.
Singleplayer option as well... like a wave system or computer that plays against you...

Many worlds (game maps) have been created like this...I don't have a clear idea of what it will end up looking like yet here I go...

The general concept is that you or a team is against another player or team(s) and mobs are sent to the player directly or through a tube that needs to be defended.

I don't know the best idea of how to do this but The details section shows the ways I have though of.

Possible details:
Every time a mob slips through one of your teamates or yourself loses a heart. Once all your hearts are gone you lose.

Once the mob slips through you are attacked by the mob.

Some mobs have certain effects when slipping through such as blindness or slowness.

Getting mobs over there requires resources... you go into the mines and collect gold and sometimes blocks or special ores. As well unlucky ores such as less money for a ore or a effect is give by the ore. I suggest the mine work by regenerating the ore is a certain area by block or by the ingot.

Special mobs are created that have extra things such as armor, and stuffs.

upgrades from coins could be... chance of getting twice the amount of gold than normal in the mine. Special mobs are unlocked, or just cosmetics and stuff.

anyways this concept is not really detailed yet gives a good view of it. I think it would be fun how ever it works out.

Ahh so it's like a protect the tower type of thing. Now, I like the idea but there should be like a single player option that's easier since you might wanna play by yourself or no one is joining.

Good idea... this is mainly why I didn't wanna get too specific as it can go in all sorts of ways and having it so it can go all sorts of ways is nice.
 
Sounds like BTD Battles, which I love! Since it's not a existing minigame on any major servers, I reckon this could work! Just a question though :

How would you kill the mobs? Would you stand at the top of a tower and fire arrows at them? It seems like a lot of effort that going down to melee them, having to melee them after they've gone through, and on top of that collecting resources to send monsters, which by the time you're done they will be more monsters to fight.

If you can answer this, I'll have a better understanding of how this works. But still, +1!

Yea I was kinda basing it off of btd but was not sure if i wanted to completely steal the idea from them.

I was thinking either regular combat or buying upgrades and placing some kinda defense things like a cannon that attacks the zombies or blocks that act like tacks in btd.

As well I have seen one place that has a simular kinda thing yet isn't btd based and uses combat so im leaning more towards going btd based.

Anyways I don't know what way would be best so I rather leave that to the devs but yea.
