Hello, as you may or may not know, I am Scott. Also known as "DontCryCraft" and I'm here to talk about LGBT. Before you ask, here's what LGBT means.
Lesbian
Gay
Bisexual
Transgender/Transexual
Queer/Questioning
Agender/Asexual
Pansexual/Panromantic
And of course, + means any others.
A lot of people are still in the closet, and that is okay, Its never too early or too late to truly accept and understand who you are. I, myself, Am a Gay Transgender (Now Agender/Genderfluid) and I was lucky to be born into a very LGBT welcoming family, having two mothers, a transgender brother and a lesbian half-sister. I understand how it felt to need to hide who you are, When I was 9, I told my mother this exact phrase.
"Mommy, Why was I born like I was?"
She had no words, but she understood what I was trying to say. She told me she believed me and that she was so proud I told her, When I was around 10, She let me shop for male clothes, that I was allowed to wear out, I had always worn tomboyish/male clothes around the house, but never outside in public, She had transferred me to another school for 5th grade, In hope I'd be accepted for who I was.
Boy.
Were.
We.
Wrong.
I was teased daily, because I had the haircut of a male, wore the clothes of a male, and went by a male name, I had to use the female's locker/bath rooms. It was awful, I felt so terrible I couldn't be who I really was. I was bullied to the point I had to go to another school, A week into 5th grade. I transferred to another school, and I was the weirdo coming in on week two, but I met a boy named Ryan, Who went by Alex or Niyux (Explanation: He had a grandfather named Niyux, it got passed down the line.) And a girl named Hope. I now live with Alex, and next-door to Hope, These two changed my life, because they embraced my weirdness, A month later, I found out Alex was transgender! And Hope supported me and Alex very much, Nothing much happened till around 8th grade, I begun to date Alex, and my mom told me she was lesbian, as a 13 year old, I understood all of this. I assume you're getting sick of my story, So I'll start wrapping it up. I now live with my siblings and Alex, I'm 15, and happier than I ever imagined.
Now! Lets talk about common LGBT problems, and how to solve them.
P = Problem, S = Solution.
P: I'm in a homophobic/transphobic family! How do I come out!?
S: It may seem hard, but always have a backup place to go, in case your parents do not accept it, But if they truly love you, they will accept you.
P: I don't know what I am.. Please help!
S: Its never too early or too late. Take your time and truly accept who you are.
P: I'm only (insert young age), but I feel I'm (insert gender/sexuality), What do I do...?
S: You're never too young or too old, take your time, Truly figure it out.
P: My parents aren't homophobic, abusive or anything special, I just don't know how to come out? What do I say?
S: You can simply, find a time, and pull them into a calm environment, and just explain it to them, you need to know yourself, so do research. You could also text or write a letter.
Now, We've reached (almost) The end. I'm going to list some main sexualities of the LGBT community.
Straight - Attracted to Opposite Gender
Bisexual - Attracted to both genders
Gay/Lesbian - Attracted to the same gender
Pansexual - Bases love off of personalities
Asexual - Attracted to no one sexually.
There are MANY MANY MANY More, and you may be Gay and Pan, you could be all, you could be none. You never have too many labels.
We have reached the end, thank you so much for reading all of this, I'll always be here if you need someone to talk to.
Goodbye!
