General Chat announcements

I'm sure you're all aware of the messages that pop up in chat every now and then, stating stuff such as "Join our forums at mcpz.net!" etc.
I've noticed a few that I feel need changing/removed.

Spoiler: First announcement

I checked the store and there's no more merch option

I'm not sure what happened to the merch tab, but if there are no plans of bringing them back anytime soon then this chat announcement is a bit pointless.

If this announcement gets removed, then we'd need to edit this announcement too.

Spoiler: Second announcement

This one's pretty minor, but the Instagram isn't really that "new" anymore.

Again, this one's pretty minor but I don't think I've seen any coupon codes released on the twitter page ever, so it's kind of misleading - correct me if I'm wrong.

I've tried voting on all the links but it seems the votes don't register anymore, as I didn't actually get any rewards.

Also, the announcements are posted every 1 minute (I believe, I timed three of them and they were posted every minute.) I feel this is a bit excessive, so maybe increase the interval time to 2 or 3 minutes maybe?

In my option, the chat announcements should be for:

• The store
• The discord
• The teamspeak
• The forums

And that's it. Maybe for applications too but other than that, it's not really needed. If you join the discord, you get notified when there are new tweets. The Instagram is just... Dead. Merch isn't on the store anymore and voting is just pointless. No one votes if there's no reward.

Edit: Also, you are right about the "one every minute" thing. (The mod shows the exact time in HH:MM:SS). It should definately be changed.

Also the Twitch, it is very important for the Stream team to have an announcement going so they don't constantly need to give players the links. Otherwise, this is a good idea and I hope to see it implemented!

I completely agree with this suggestion. As you've shown, a lot of the announcements are outdated and redundant. Here are some announcements I personally believe we should consider...

*These are just some ideas that we should include but of course not limited to:
→ Build-Battle
→ Karaoke
→ Contests (such as our Halloween Story Contest)
→ Official Discord
→ Forums
→ Teamspeak
→ Insights
→ Voting (once it is fixed)

By implementing ideas such as these, new players can communicate and participate with the community in ways both inside and outside the network. For events or contests, we can include dates or times with the purpose that players can know when it's happening and what time.

Additionally agreeing with what's been stated about how frequently announcements are made, I believe there should be an at least 5-10 minute gap between announcements. This can properly get all announcements made, but in a manner that is not too redundant or, for lack of better words, annoying.

Overall, I think this suggestion can benefit the network in quite a few ways. There's always room for change and even a minor change within announcements can make a great difference! Love this suggestion. +1

I do plan on bringing up changing the Instagram one to something much different and the Twitter to some rendition of that and yes, you are right- we have never done a coupon code Tweet.

yeah, they need updating, but i don't think the timing intervals are excessive. the chat get hectic at times, so they're going to be fairly spaced out unless there isn't a lot of people on.

Based off of the feedback in this thread, I've gone ahead and modified most of the current announcements to be more in line with what they should be. I've temporarily removed/altered the current merch-related announcements until they are back. On top of this, I've added a couple new announcements for both the Twitch account and karaoke sessions on Discord.

With that, I've also decreased the frequency of the announcements from 1 minute to 3 minutes.

Hopefully, this will be a good start before we get into the bigger changes down the line. Of course, if there are any other issues, then be sure to let us know and we'll do what we can to get them resolved.

I personally don’t like the Discord one, because it promotes joining Discord while under 13. There should be a link on the forums, or something.

I don't think it should be removed either, it's naive if you join being under 13. Many people are under 13 either way on discord so it doesn't really matter that much but it's common sense. Let it stay because removing it will make it harder for people who do want to join the discord!
