On the map clue in murder I know that for one of the hiding spots (The one in the basement where u press the button on the fridge then go down the hole thingy) I know there is a pressure plate down there, I was told that you aren't allowed to stand on it, is that true?

If you can access the pressure plate without immense effort then it is fine to stand on. We wouldn't put something dangerous on a map if players could get to it. However, if it does cause anything bad to happen then I recommend filing a Bug Report about it.
