She looks soooo pretty in the spotlight. I felt myself blushing but was glad that my face was hidden in the shadows. This was it. I'm going to tell her. I got close to the table.
"Mawper, I have an important question for you" She looked at me confused but pained attention.
"Will you be my-" Fire shots rang around the place. People started screaming. We both looked around trying to find out what was going on. Mawper yelped. A man had grabbed her and was dragging her away. I was about to chase after them until, BANG. I fell to the ground. Pain spreaded through my left leg. I looked up at Mawper again when another person came along and put their knee on my back keeping me down.
"DOGE!!" Mawper cried, struggling from the man grip. The person above me smiled. Then he said.
"No more romantic dinners." He brought up his gun. WHACK. Everything went dark. The last thing I remember from that night was a soft whisper.
"I love you Doge!"
