Confirmed Bed & Some Other Changes

I remember when the big update finally came, and for a while we could right click the beds and actually be able to lay down in them, could you please add that back? And also, could you guys somehow add a feature where we can spawn in mobs, but they can't leave the plot that they've been spawned in on, and possibly add a /gamemode thing where we can set our game mode to survival on a specific plot, but when we leave that plot or do another /gamemode command, we go back to the default/creative mode? Thanks :D
 
I would really like to see being able to change gamemodes to survival and back.

Pros
It will be fun
And during role play it would be more fun.
And basically it'll be fun if you want to play a game or anything in gamemodes survival.

Cons
If we are able to change to spectator mode you can go into places where you are restricted.
You can teleport to random people
And if we need to have this we will have to turn off friendly fire because people will start pvping.

maybe just have the ability to switch between creative/survival instead of spectator?

Honestly, I don't see this as a necessary change. The main thing I would get out of this is less time having to build a minecart-and-rail bed during roleplays, which I feel like I can customize more, so it isn't really that much of a problem.

Like _StrawberryMocha_ said, people may start to PvP in Survival mode. That shouldn't be a thing, as this is a Creative server, not PvP.

Also, do you want to add spectator as a gamemode to switch to aswell? Because then we could just go through things and be able to go where we shouldn't go (restricted areas like _StrawberryMocha_ said).

This is a cool idea that you thought of, just a lot of work for a change that I don't really view as necessary / wanted.

Yes, I apologized for this earlier, I wasn't thinking about Spectator gamemode. Maybe instead of Survival, perhaps Adventure mode, where you can't fight other players?
 
But in Adventure Mode, you cannot directly destroy or place blocks.

I still don't see this as necessary, especially with the fact that there are a lot of disadvantages with Adventure mode (the main one being that you can't place or destroy blocks).

Maybe, but I don't know if the staff team thinks that this is necessary and will add in survival mode and disable PvP.

You can fight people in adventure mode, they have to turn off friendly fire.
 
Doesn’t changing to survival mode take away the purpose of calling it “creative mode”. Also roleplays have always worked around it, without Survival.
I mean it’d be fun. But I just don’t see a real point in it.

I’ll be staying neutral.

All that’s needdd is PVP disables if you plan on putting people in survival. In all honestly, I’d prefer creative stay creative, but I get why people would like this. If a bunch of people support this, then it might as well be implemented. I guess I’m kind of neutral on this. :shrug:

Thanks for all the feedback, everyone! It really does mean a lot to me :) But what about the bed idea? Does everybody agree on that?
The issue has been brought up a few times before (one example being here), but I agree that the time should be set so that players can use beds.

I think the bed idea, is good.
The situation I think I can view this being needed is in rps. I personally don’t see a negative outlook, it may not be dire, but it could be used positively to enhance the role play experience for players.
+1 on that.

I’m unsure on how I stand with players spawning mobs. I can see it potentially lagging the server, but also there could be a limit of how many mobs you can spawn, such as; 50 heads, etc.
I do have a few questions such as
- Would you be able to spawn hostile mobs?
I am currently +0 on this suggestion.

I do not think players should be allowed to change their gamemode. As in all honesty it is called Crestive for a reason, but also when I think of changing gamemodes, I’m assuming you mean revoking their ability to fly for realistic rps. Instead of changing the gamemode on your plot completely, a /togglefly could be an implemented command if anything.
If players fly over your plot a warning could be given out such as
“This plot has fly toggled” and would give you 5s to leave before you fall.

These are just added on suggestions.

Overall I am +0 on this/neutral.

I don't view it as one of the most important changes that I want to really happen right now, but I would be okay if staff decided to implement the bed idea. It doesn't take as long to place a bed as it does to make a minecart-and-rail bed which is a positive thing.

So, my final opinion is +1 on the bed idea and -1 on the gamemode idea.

Personally I’m not a big fan of a survival game mode because then people start to spawn kill. Spawn killing is personally extremely annoying, however, setting a rule saying that harsh punishment will be made against people who disobey.

I also don’t agree with having mobs since they cause a LOT of lag when too many are in one place which could be considered trapping. However, if this were to be implemented I’m sure there would be a rule against having too many mobs as there are with heads and banners. I’m not partial on this topic but if there were ways to counter the cons of your suggestion, I could be swayed. For now I’m voting -1
 
I’d have to agree with the above statement. Changing my vote to -1.
