So I recently auditioned for AGT, it is a very complicated thing to do, and most people don't know how it works, so I am here to explain to everyone how they can audition, and explain the audition process.

Auditioning- This may be a let down for those who assume that you can automatically audition in front of the celebrity judges. Most people do not live where AGT is hosted, but I am pretty sure that people who do can automatically audition in front of the judges, but will most likely have to pay. But for people who do not live in that general area, Auditioning is FREE (Not including traveling expenses if you have to travel to another city). It is a free open call audition. AGT travels the United States and goes to around 15 cities, so I can assume that at least one city is near you, fortunately for me they stopped in my city this year so I did not have to travel anywhere. Although as of now they are not holding auditions, they will be once the current season is over.

Things To know-
*Although the people you see on TV have plenty of time to perform their act, this is basically a pre-audition to audition in front of the judges, so the act you perform must be 90 seconds, or they will stop you if you go over.
*You will not originally be performing in front of the judges (Unless you make it to the next round), so instead you will perform for a producer who will record your performance. Another thing to know is that you do not audition alone, You will be in a group of about 8 acts, and you will be taken to a room where you will all perform for the judges in number order. This may seem scary, but the other people in the room are in the same situation as you are so everyone will be nervous. For me it was a great experience to get to see what other people did for their auditions, and everyone showed tremendous support to each other.
Waiting (In many ways)- AGT is a very popular reality television show, so it should be no surprise that you have to wait HOURS to audition, but if you get there very early, you could easily not have to wait as long as most others! Not only does waiting to audition take a long time, but waiting for audition results can take a long time too. Waiting for results really depends on which cities are holding auditions and when they hold them. Because if your city is the first city they visit, there will still be several more cities to go to, and they cannot accept auditions before they have visited all of the cities. You will not find out if you made it right after you audition. They will only email you results if you made it, they won't if you did not, so since there is no actual date they reveal everything, keep a constant eye on the website after you audition so you can see if they have sent out results.
Results- Although it may be upsetting to find out that you did not make it through (if you do not), just remember that literally MILLIONS of people audition, and they only select about 80 to make it through.
(My audition number was 1,211,4447) No matter what you are seriously amazing if you are brave enough to even audition
