Hello i'd like to attempt writing so i wanted to see if people would like to sign up as characters.
I have not made a main character but i'm going to choose one from the character sign ups.

This is the story without spoilers.
Its the start of a new school year, in Vortem High. One girl/boy has spent her/his life in a huge blank and bad fortune. Finally he/she can start new. With struggles, ups and downs. But wait. Is he/she the only one? And what mysterys do the others hold?

Now I'm only going to accept 10-18 people and to show I've seen it i'll leave a like. I will PM you if you are accepted or declined

Character Name: Etgar
Character Age: 14
Character Year (7th, 8th, or 9th): 8th
Backstory: He was raised in a very strict neighborhood. There's always a rule to keep him from being himself. His dad was never home and his mother was verbally abusing him. He has 2 close friends. And is known at school, yet not popular. Even though he had a very, normal yet terrible childhood, he stays optimistic. He tends to talk a lot when he is excited, and stay quiet when he's in a bad mood.
Appearance: Dark Brown/black hair. Green eyes. Very long and slim. Always wears his white t-shirt & white sneakers. He also wears a light blue jeans and a brown jacket.
Personality: Etgar is a very shy kid. He's that kid that always sits in the back of the class. He tends to bottle his emotions up, until someone tries to open old wounds. He is gullible and has a big heart. He tends to open up to the wrong people.
Sexuality: Bisexual

Backstory: She often avoids saying things about her past, but she claims that her parents sent her to the states because of health and financial problems. Her only two friends are far away and talk only on Facetime and Skype. Besides not being very social, she had a somewhat normal life with her foster parents and friends. Her Foster Family were big authors and she ended up being the cover designer for most of their books at a young age, which sparked her love for art.
Appearance: She has thick pink and blue-dyed hair that looks like candy floss and soft silver eyes, she has fair skin, long eyelashes, and a beauty mark right under her eye. She often wears purple sweaters, Pastel Overalls, and flower crowns. She is VERY tall with unusually long legs. On regular occasion she wears cat ear headphones or headbands to express her love of cats.

Personality: Tatsu is very uh... out there and spaces out all the time. She isn't the brightest star in the sky and gets distracted quite easily. She's good natured and just wants to help when ever she can. She let's small things get to her, like saying her hair looks like a unicorn ran through a car wash. She is very gullible and gets manipulated quite a lot.

Extra: her bedroom and drawing tablet are covered in stickers, glitter, and pastel colors.

Backstory: Joel's Parents were in a car accident when he was a baby.His Parents were rushed to the hospital,For his Mother was the one who lived. Joel's father passed away in that hospital the next day.With his Dad gone,It left him,His Mother,and this Little sister named Alice who was in the 4th grade.Joel reads to get his thoughts out of his head.
Appearance:Joel wears button up plaid shirts with dark blue jeans and White vans.He wears a skull necklace that his father put around his neck as a baby,Before the car crash.Joel's hair is parted to the side and his light blue eyes are stunning.Joel Wears reading glasses,When he is reading,Joel has light brown hair and always wears a beanie to match his shirt.
Personality:Joel loves to read,He is very smart and gets all A's in school.He also draws to express himself in different ways.He is very kind to others and helps when he can.

Character Name: Pierce Nixon
Character Age: 15

Backstory: When Pierce was very young, he was adopted by an 'older' couple (Late 50's). They took very good care of him and he began to know them as his only family. His father's heart started to fail and he was taken to the hospital. Ultimately, he did not survive. His mother is very loving but she is unable to travel anywhere. Pierce is aware that soon she will be gone, too. Talking about any of this is a very sensitive topic for him.
Appearance: Pierce has dark brown hair, blue eyes, and pale skin. He is very lean and is 5'9. He keeps his hair short (shorter on sides than on top, sort of a crew cut but sort of not). He is a little weak and is mostly horrible at sports, but he is very fast.
Personality: Pierce is a generally quiet person; he only feels comfortable talking to people he knows well. He has very little trust in people, so it is very hard for him to make friends. He often prefers to be alone. He is a good student and very intelligent. He doesn't feel that he'd like anyone to know his backstory and he often tries to hide everything in his life from everyone.
Sexuality: Straight, although he tries not to become involved in any relationship.
Extra (if needed): Hello! It's me. I've been wondering if after all these years you'd like to meet to go over everything. They say that time's supposed to heal ya, but I ain't done much healing. Hello? Can you hear me? I'm in California dreaming about who we used to be when we were younger and free. I've forgotten how it felt before the world fell at our feet.

Character Age: 15

Backstory: Essence has always been sorta shut off from her emotions and other people. At home, crying is a sign of weakness, so she has adapted and turned the urge to cry into anger. She has a few close friends and doesn't trust easily, as she knows it is very easy to be betrayed from her experience with it. She doesn't have a particularly hard life but her parents don't make a lot of money, just enough to provide basic needs and a few fun things every now and then. She also lives with her mom and stepdad and tends to fight a lot with her stepdad. Her dad is in the picture and every time he comes to visit her or she visits him, she feels free and happy.
Appearance: Her natural hair color is blonde, but she dyes it red or purple normally (sometimes even both). Her hair is short as she has a pixie cut. She dresses in dark colors (Black and purple being her two favorites) and her eyes are silver. She is short, standing at 5 foot 4 and a little bit curvy.
Personality: She is often cold towards new people and it takes her a while to warm up. She also is self conscious about her eye color, so she dyes her hair to distract people from them. When she talks to her good friends, she is very witty and loyal. If someone goes behind her back, she shuts herself off from them. She really likes music and gaming, as both are a good stress reliever for her. Every now and then she will find a good fantasy book to read also.
Sexuality: Bisexual but tends to lean more towards guys.
Extra (if needed): She often wears her earbuds and makes her music as loud as possible when she is mad. She also has been single all her life, but she believes love comes after lots of work instead of "love at first sight" and if a significant other was to tell her that they loved her too early she would immediately dump them.

Character Name: Mia Waterstone
Character Age: 15.5 years old
Character Year (7th,8th, or 9th): 9th Year (grade for me )
Backstory: Mia was abandoned by her parents at the young age of 2 years. She was afraid, alone, and lonely. Luckily, people had found Mia and taken her in as their own. Mia was raised by Katherine and Robert Waterstone, and adopted on Christmas 2001, as her Christmas present that year. She always struggled to fit in at her schools, but Mia didn't let that bother her. She is a strong and confident young woman, as her parents would say. The Waterstones moved in by a not-so-good neighborhood, and then they were attacked by a gang of rebels from down the road. Both of her parents were killed, but Mia survived somehow. Mia's aunt and uncle adopted her from then on. She was only 10 at the time.
Appearance: Mia has short, red/brunette hair that she likes to put in a bun a lot, and her usual outfits include sweatshirts, black leggings with her hair down or in a tight ponytail, or a flannel that is unbuttoned, with a black spaghetti strap tank top and a plain white baseball cap. Mia's preferred outfits are usually seen as an unbuttoned flannel with a floppy beanie, spaghetti strap tank, and black leggings/capris. She also has many freckles across the bridge of her nose and wears glasses. (They look like the ones in my pfp)
Personality: Mia is usually a quiet person, with either her nose in a book or playing around on Wattpad on her phone. She is a kind-hearted person as well, although she may seem harsh at first from her looks at people. Mia is shy, preservative, and a very severe introvert-ish girl. Her main escape from the world is music, especially classical.
Sexuality: Right now, she is questioning her sexuality.
Extra (if needed): She does not know what love and friendship or relationships really feel like, as she has not experienced them.

I just found this and I'm a bit curious, so why not?

Character Name: Ian Vaughan
Character Age: 13
Character Year (7th, 8th, or 9th): 8th
Backstory: As a kid, he never really "got" things. Growing up with a single mother who never really payed attention, he'd spend his time with nature- in the forest near his backyard. He got along with birds and stray cats, but never had much kid-to-kid interaction. In school, he had trouble paying attention in school, and found himself bullied a lot in elementary for being "weird". Because of this trauma, he is selectively mute and will not talk to adults (namely because of teachers who did nothing about the bullies), and barely talks unless he has full trust in someone. He has a special connection to this day with nature, and is not happy unless he is alone in the forest- his "home" for most of his life.
Appearance: Ian has dark, scruffy thick hair, quite like this. (although he is caucasian!)

He has quite the tan from being outdoors much, but he wears mainly hoodies and sweaters in public settings to hide scrapes and scars from his past, which still appear on his torso, arms, and a little on his face. The clothes he wears are plain, if not with holes and patches from being worn out. He does wear a green sweater he likes a lot.. He is short and scrawny, and not what most would call "attractive".
Personality: He is incredibly shy and stoic, but not necessarily aloof. He is down to earth and observant of those around him. Again, he is selectively mute, and suffers from ADD. He rarely smiles, and if he does, it's usually from a bad joke he overhears. His voice isn't very loud when he does speak. He is insecure about his facial scar- right across his nose from a bad cut, so he tends to avoid eye contact. However, he is also insecure about appearing weak, since his weakness as a child is what led to his torment. He wouldn't admit it, but he's a little perverted- and would never actually make a perverted statement out loud. He doesn't really listen to music, so he wouldnt be labelled "edgy" or "emo", just a "freak kid", which he doesn't mind. He gets along with animals easiest, and is afraid of being indoors for long periods of time, crowds, and adults. He prefers boys over girls. He is physically fit however, and is very strong, as well as strongwilled.
Sexuality: Bi- male preference
Extra (if needed): Again, he is selectively mute.... so not much dialogue to work with, ehehe

Character Name: Amina
Character Age: 14
Character Year (7th, 8th, or 9th): 8th.
Backstory: Amina's backstory is very simple. She was born into a modern family, her father had a business job which caused her and her family to travel. She's fluent in 3 languages; English, Spanish, and Arabic. From all her moving she was online schooled through a program, which led her to be isolated, until she moved and settled into this school. She has three siblings, all that are which WAAAAYYY older than her and live on their own. She began getting the feelings of being alone which led to anxiety, to keep her mind off things she began playing the ukulele which she practiced all the time.
Appearance: Amina has medium-dark brown hair, her hair length is long, the length goes right below her hip. She bleached her ends, which are blonde. She has blue eyes, her outer ring is a dark blue, which goes lighter towards her pupil. She has a average body type with larger hips than normal. Her usual outfits are either; a black or white blouse, with sweatpants, or black jeggings. She often wears oversized sweaters and puts her hair into a bun.
Personality: Amina is an average girl, she's sweet to people when she firsts meets them, she never allows herself to get attached to any person at all. When she does it's very difficult for her to leave that person. She's very kept to herself until the right person talks to her and becomes her friend. She tends to observe those around her as she's very philosophical about life, she's an outside thinker which usually gives her an existential crises every now and then. She often listens to generic "Emo" music such as P!ATD, MCR, & TØP, she feels as if they connect to her. Although she's usually kept to herself. She often has outbursts of her trying to change herself into a outgoing, friendly person.
Sexuality: Amina is Pansexual (no one is safe)

Character Age: 15

Backstory: Spencer grew up like a normal kid and two wonderful parents. Her mother died at the age of 11 and she became depressed and evolved anxiety on the way. During high school she realised that she had a crush on a girl but was scared to tell her. Later on she ended up being bullied for being bisexual. She now ended up working at a coffee shop at the age of 14. Spencer had to do a lot of work around the house since her dad became an alcoholic after her mother passed. Life was tough for Spencer but she managed to get through dark times. She now is happily living life.
Appearance: Long greyish hair that ends at her chest. Grey like eyes that are filled with curiosity. She has the body shape of a normal heathy teenager. Her outfits are normally a messy bun, oversized jumper and skinny jeans or tank tops with high-waisted shorts with her hair out. Or even if Spencer is in a good mood she'll be wearing braids. She tends to be wearing beanies a lot and is one of those kids you'll see the majority of their time listening to music (TØP, Panic!, Masked intruder etc) Spencer tends to be pale and tends to wear some Emo clothing sometimes. She has peircings on both ears and doubles on her left ear as they represent her parents and has a small sliver nose ring is also pierced. Her hair is like a long kind of fringe/side bang looking way.

Personality: She normally likes to be in a medium sized group of people and other times prefers to be alone. Spencer can be quite snappy towards other if she is insulted of someone makes fun of someone just because they're LBGT+. She have a lot of sas and be quite sarcastic at times. Spencer is a supporter of the LBGT+ community. She isn't quite fond of meeting new people since she can be quite shy. In her own personal time Spencer likes to draw mythical creatures and in her spare time likes to read books about mythogoloy and play games. She has a sense of being artistic and is very judgement about her work. Spencer can become shy around some girls as she prefers to hang out with boys
