It may be down. What is your username and what does it say?

If you were banned it would say Banned or Banned- (reason)
If it just says unable to connect then your internet connection may be poor or the server is restarting, could also be an error.

Provide a screenshot. So we can help you better. (Note you can still use F2 or what ever button you set the screenshot key to take pictures anytime Minecraft is on, that even means you could take photos of your server list, the error code from servers, the title screen, etc.)

Try logging in again. If it won't let you in it might just be your minecraft or computer
 
* The Internet box, The computer cant connect to the internet without that.

Which is why it was mostly likely a (temporary) server/internet/minecraft/computer issue.

or.. If you get a problome like " Cannot connect to server are the data base down or something" Thats something wrong with the server
