I agree with that.I've heard about it and find it stupid. It's just an excuses to do stuffs. Either you pour water on your head, or you don't, and most people don't donate in any case.
i dont think its stupid, it was originaly made to raise money for charity, if you do it then people sponsor you and if you dont you just give the moneyI've heard about it and find it stupid. ^ I realise it might be a bit ironic that I say that and then make a thread about it, but the thread is for fun, and I will donate if I'm nominated.
The idea itself isn't stupid, I just don't like the fact that most people are just accepting to do something cool and try to do something huge, when they don't know what ALS is or even mention it in their vid.i dont think its stupid, it was originaly made to raise money for charity, if you do it then people sponsor you and if you dont you just give the money
I want to do it, but nobody challenges me![]()
You don't really need a reason to pour water on your head...I want to do it, but nobody challenges me![]()
It's something unpleasant you probably don't want to do, so you donate instead. But the donating amount is too high, so most people do it anyways.I think it is a good cause but the idea of pouring a bucket of cold water on your head makes no sense...
Well... Apparently, it's meant to be a tiny bit like having ALS because it temporarily freezes you (depending on how much ice you put in the bucket). That's what I heard, at least. Obviously, it could never replicate the mental pain of having this horrible disease, knowing what lies ahead for you. ALS really is horrible...I think it is a good cause but the idea of pouring a bucket of cold water on your head makes no sense...

Also, some people have mentioned drugs that slow the ALS down. These are extremely ineffective and only increase the lifespan by 3 months and cost the insurance companies $400 a day to be on. That's why people want to raise money. To find a permanent cure.
