PROLOGUE
It became clear that this was how he was going to die.
A clear shot through the head; depressing, right?
The male didn’t care, he was caught up in his own little imagination to notice that they were getting things set up.
He was scratching his arms, blood seeping through the cuts he made from not biting on his nails for quite some time. He then stopped, looking up as he heard a small noise come from the thick metal door.
He crawled over to the door, peeking through the small light that emitted from the cracks around the door frame. The male leaned his ear near the cracks, listening in to the conversation.
“Did you get permission?” One of the females said, grabbing the ring of keys from her brown leather belt.
“Yes, the execution will resume tomorrow, starting with StrongHold-0356.” The elder male proudly said.
The male looked at his tag, sighing out of relief. He looked up, noticing his friend.
“Why hello there, Michael.” The former male who seemed to sneak his way into the cell.
“Jake, what are you doing here?” He said, grabbing some bandages for his arms.
Jake, smiled while he climbed his way over to Michael. “Just wanted to visit you in this insane place.”
Michael groaned, “get out.” He stated, sitting down on the only furniture in the grey, concrete room, a bed.
“Scratching your arms again?” Jake said, cringing at the sight of blood.
“Bleh.” Michael stuck his tongue out, finishing up wrapping his left arm then going on to the right.
Jake sighed, “when’s your execution?”
“June 21st,” Michael answered. “Basically tomorrow.”
“Do you want to die?” Jake chuckled, “because I sure don’t want to.”
Michael shrugged it off, finally finishing wrapping his right arm. He put the bandage roll under the crooked bed. He made his way back up the bed, rolling his sleeves down before lying on the pillow, drifting to sleep.
