A voice rang throughout the sky, anger throbbing along slowly, reaching the ear of God of The Underworld. The tall dark figure stood straight, his crouched position returning to normal. His distinctive black eyes showing pure pride, but his eyebrows crouched into an angry glare. He flickered for a moment, in between the barrier of time, and then appeared in front of a younger looking male figure. He looked into the other males electrified blue eyes, his figure was a lot more buff and shun more brightly then The Underworlds God, figuratively. The other gave a frustrated glare. "Zeus." The God said, looking directly into the eyes of the other, scanning the male up and down, hatred visible in the Underworld gods eyes. "Hades." Zeus said, his voice confident, and stronger then the other. "I was called?" Hades said, his shoulders lowering, as was his guard. Zeus nodded suspiciously, eyes fixed on Hades movement. Distaste in his eyes. "Every since the incident with, him, things have been currently 'out of order' in the sun. I've tried to warn Helios, but he's been sulking all year. He's only back into his original job and things are getting out of hand. The sun is being polluted with an energy source- which we haven't yet identified." Zeus said, pacing slightly as he spoke to his elder brother, Hades. "This concerns me, how?" Hades said, his voice tinted with carelessness. "We need all the hands we can get. Regrettably." Zeus hissed slightly, causing Hades to glare. “Just guard the surrounding areas of Olympus.” Zeus said firmly. The God Of The Underworld hissed violently, once again flickering between times barrier out of sight. Zeus sighed, “Oh brother.” He muttered shamefully. Suddenly, screaming was heard in the distance, a high pitched voice of a female. Zeus was alerted, running towards the noise.
Hades murmured as he scanned a dark area on the mountain range, just beneath the Olympian's paradise, the place he could never go optionally. He shook his head, putting his hands through his greasy black hair, sighing in frustration. He flickered into a new position, once again. This time, finding himself at an edge of Olympus. He hummed, once again the area was just dark, but nothing was specifically off. Hades sighed, cursing beneath his breath. He sat by himself, eyes scanning the sky higher than himself, his aura tense. As he sat, his eyes squinted, as he glared near the sun. He flickered onto a nearby mountain range, no where as near as high as Olympus. He stood bewared. The sun was visibly moving, as if it was splashing. Hades facial expression changed to confusion, worry slowly creeping in. He noticed a golden drop, becoming significantly closer, as he looked up. The god moved, as a drop of golden fire hit the mountain tip. As the drop hit, a burst of flames exploded, the fire forming a shape of a Phoenix, the flame surrounding dancing in different shapes and forms, creating a dream-like effect. In the middle of the bird, was a baby. Hades, attempted to leave, but his attempt was flawed by his own curiosity, which whispered for him to stay. As the fire died down, the baby lay on the floor, asleep in a bundle. Hades grabbed the child, incorrectly, and flickered. His though process blurred.
"You brought a child to me?" Zeus said, disapprovingly. Hades hissed, “The golden drop, it was imbalanced impurity. This child could be dangerous!” Hades shouted in frustration. His younger brother chuckled. “As if I’d keep it now.” He said, throwing the child as if it were a rag doll onto the ground before Hades. Hades glared. “What about Poseidon?” Hades said, trying to remain calm, as he gently lifted up the baby into his arms. “In your dreams.” Zeus chuckled, once again. Hades looked down at the child, who was dreaming contently. He sighed. Hesitating, and softening dramatically as he spoke next “I’ll take her.” Hades offered. “That’ll be one messed up child.” Zeus muttered, receiving an immediate glare from Hades. Zeus sighed and gestures for Hades to leave. Before Hades left, he was stopped briefly by Zeus, “Keep it away from me.” He said, seriously. Hades looked down at the child and looked back, once again. He nodded, flickering back to his home, in the Underworld.
7 Years Later
An abnormally small child ran into the black marble corridor, running behind the pillar, giggling to herself, her floppy blonde to ombré blue pigtails flew behind her as she ran. She held a mortal water bottle, filled with a glowing magenta liquid. Her ocean blue eyes filled with curiosity and happiness. She opened the bottle and poked her finger into the liquid. “Ouchie!” She whined, whipping her hand out, a small golden opening appearing at the top of her pale finger. “Marica!” Am angry voice yelled, echoing throughout the corridor. A tall dark figure dashed behind the young child, grabbing her and swinging her onto his back. “Father!” She moaned. “What have I told you about taking my stuff without permission!” He said, raising his voice. The girl cried slightly, causing him to soften. “I’m sorry, but please don’t do this again. You’re going to get hurt..” he said, gently. The girl, hugged her father tightly.
“Dad, will you tell me the story?” Marica said. Her father sighed. “I have to get back to work- Zeus wants to see me.” He groaned slightly. “You’re a horrible influence.” The child huffed. “I’m sorry.” He laughed slightly. He turned to leave when Marica called, “Dad! Can I come with you?” He whipped back, remembering the words of the past. “Please...” she whined. He sighed. “Okay, but stay put when I tell you to. I can’t bring you in to see Zeus. So keep quiet.” He hushed the child, lifting her onto his back, flickering onto the barrier of Olympus. He entered slowly, and cautiously, putting Marica down. He quietly said “Please stay here, now.” Marica sighed, sitting down in the middle of a path.
Time went by slowly for the young girl, peace and quiet being her only company. As she begun to drift, a smooth wheel rolling across the path could be heard. The girl looked behind to see a chariot approaching at full speed, growing closer. She immediately rolled off the path, fear booming throughout her body. The chariot came to a halt, and two children around her age poked out of it along with an adult, which Marica did not recognize. The older gave a confused look at the child, their grey eyes full of curiosity. He stood, revealing a broad, tall figure. Marica panicked a little, as the man grew closer to her. “I do not wish to harm you Marica.” He said, his voice kind and gentle. Marica tensed as he said her name, “Who are you?! How do you know my name!” She screamed weakly. “I am Idris Hearth, God of the past.” Idris paused to chuckle and continued slowly, “I see everything you’ve done in your past; regardless if it is a forgotten memory.” Marica nodded, relaxing slightly. “Idris!” A young boy whined impatiently. “Would you ever shut up?” Hissed the girl sitting next to him. Marica peeked behind Idris, two children sat together, as she looked, the boy hid behind the other, his curly blonde hair still in sight. The girl smiled at Marica, their silver eyes glowing with genuine kindness. “Ahem.” Idris coughed, attempting to gain Marica’s attention. The girl looked up at him, “Your father is approaching, I’d recommend going to him before he sees you.” He said, patting the girl and crouching to her height. “Who is he?” She asked. “Someone who doesn’t want you here, for now.” He smiled sadly at the girl, pushing her gently and gesturing for her to go. She looked back one more time, glancing at the two in the carriage. She smiled and ran off, in the direction of her father, pigtails flopping behind her.
“Dad?” Marica called. She waited for a response, as she sat quietly in the corridor. She sighed. “He never tells me anything.” She said sadly. As she sat, she begun to drift into a slumber, her eyes closing. “Maricaaa...” a voice whispered, her eyes getting heavy as the voice continued to echo throughout her body.
Marica’s eyes shot wide open, jumping from a cold crystal floor. Marica looked around, her surroundings completely new. She tensed dramatically, as she looked around. She muttered to herself, wandering around an empty room of crystal like shapes. As she approached the end, a stone lay on a a quartz stand. She hesitantly walked towards the stone, stopping before it. “Hello?” She called, her voice echoing and bouncing across the room. She shrugged, grabbing the stone, for there was nothing else to do. As she grabbed the stone, a flash of colour appear, temporarily blinding Marica. When she regained sight, she saw a bright purple crystal in her hand instead of the dull grey rock. As she turned, the crystals became wider, now becoming a longer corridor. The longer she wandered the more dream like the setting became.
Finally, after what felt like years, she turned into a hall of doors. Some were made of white marble, others were black and red. As she continued to go further, she came across a golden door. Above the door was a symbol, something she could not make out. She put her hands gently on the handle, twisting it, a loud creek echoing throughout the hall as she entered. As she entered, her crystal had disappeared and the setting had changed into pitch black. As she wandered in the dark she heard a growl, signaling she was no longer alone. She turned, hoping to find the exit, but found herself face to face with a tall, skinny, figure whose only visible feature was pearly white eyes, which emitted light in the pitch black. “Who are you and how dare you enter my door of dreams!?” He said, his voice sharp, scaring the girl. “I never meant any harm- I just- I just..” Marica begun to cry, the figures face instantly softening. “I apologize. I did not realize you were unable to...” He paused, unsure if it was fine to continue. He hesitated for a moment and then continued, “control yourself.” Marica sighed, anxious and unsure of what to do. “I am Axis.” The man smiled, but Marica was still in shock from their encounter. She turned around and begun to walk away quickly, causing Axis to grow confused. “Come back little girl!” He yelled, unknown to how odd that came across. Marica began to run, as he spoke louder, fear blinding her as she ran.
Suddenly she found herself gasping for air, reality striking her. “Dad!” Marica cried, disappearing into dark marble corridors, searching for her father.
