Such as?I don't care about the combat.
When Microsoft adopted Mojang and 1.9 was forced out, Minecraft lost all of its previous standards.

You could create anything. Now the combat system is improved to a actual game not your own game that you make on your own.Such as?

Minecraft is like a blank starting paper. Before many people could make any kinds of paper and now the orginal paper is being filled and soon it will be hard to change the paper because of how filled it is getting.wait what
i didnt get it

No, it used to be Minecraft only had slight non-realistic happenings, but only because the game needed a protagonist.I still don't get it lol
sorry if my replies are jarring
Welp being the nub I am 1.8 is easier for me in pvp.
Not sure if that falls into this. >~<
We have developerNo, it used to be Minecraft only had slight non-realistic happenings, but only because the game needed a protagonist.
Now we have lots of things that no one really needed or wanted, all because Mojang is under the control of Microsoft, the soul sucking company of death.
They're adding more and more real protagonists and causing Minecraft's feel to change.
Eventually it won't be the "you can build anything world" it will be an RPG, and while I have nothing against RPGs, Minecraft RPGs won't work.
Makes no difference actually. It's the exact same (on servers with 1.8 as well as newer versions)Welp being the nub I am 1.8 is easier for me in pvp.

That was fixed a while agoI believe you need to be in 1.8 in order to get into Elite survival. Other than that, I'm not sure why other people are in 1.8. Texture packs? (That's from the person above me) uh. People might now know how to update? Not quite sure.
I made this so that it's one big uniform thread rather than just a part of a suggestion thread.Okay this thread is pretty pointless in my opinion, as it takes a tad bit of searching on the forums to find a huge discussion about the EXACT same topic. Anyways, I can think of a couple reasons off the top of my head immediately, but if I really thought about it I'm sure I could come up with more.
Plugin compatibility and how there aren't many plugins for higher versions yet. The ones that are out, I'm willing to bet are buggy and not as well done compared to those in 1.8, which have had a solid few years to be perfected. I'd rather play on a complete server than a buggy and lackluster one in exchange for a couple blocks, yeah? I'm sure others can agree.
We'd lose a huge chunk of the already dwindling player base. I'm gonna go ahead and guess that not everyone here has the best PC, so much so that they can't run Minecraft at 60 FPS. This is because almost everyone is 13 at oldest, and they don't have a job yet so they aren't able to afford decent PCs. I'm not speaking for everyone, but either way, the newer updates lag people. Even the new launcher is buggy, and even has trouble starting on my PC, which can smoothly run mod packs at 60 FPS (To put it into terms, it's good enough for Minecraft). This is due to the fact that it's complete garbage. It takes more to start, and I have no doubt that lower end PCs will lag even more in game. If the server were to switch versions and lose that huge portion of players, then it'd impact the income. I shouldn't even need to explain why that's a problem.
If you want to use 1.10, more power to you. It's compatible with 1.8. And if the new blocks really mean so much to you, then build on single player or something. If you play mini games, it shouldn't matter what version to be honest.
Also, wouldn't the combat system be irrelevant? I haven't been on the server for a few months, but I can't think of any games that require real combat. Downgrade doesn't even have swords, and the ones I can think of are one shot anyways. I might be wrong on that, but it still isn't actual PVP since half of the weapons are projectiles.
There's no benefit to the new animation really.I use 1.8.9 only for the benefit of pvp animations, if these animations can be added to the server then I don't see why they can upgrade it to 1.9
Agreed. The main reason why I use 1.12 is for the colors for creative purposes. I perfer the 1.12 colors over 1.11 and under, because they are more vibrant and match my builds better. I would like for creative to update to 1.12 for the pure reason of there being amazing new block choices in the concrete and glazed terracotta (not to mention the updated colors!)
I'm trying to figure out why people who generally are multiplayer only don't upgrade, not telling the server to upgrade. Most people still play 1.8 anyway so i think it'd be better to keep it that way.
