1.8 Murder Guide

One of MCPZ's minigames is Murder. Loved by hundreds of thousands, Murder is a game similar to Cops-and-Robbers. Trust me, It's fun to play.




TEAMS

There are two basic teams, The Murderer and Bystanders. Both teams fight to try and win for their team. In order to win, each team needs to kill all members of the opposite team.

First off, we have the murderer. There can only be one murderer per game, and his/her role is very important. He/She needs to kill everyone on the bystander team. The murderer is given a sword. The sword is used to kill the bystanders, one at a time. It can be thrown to kill a bystander, as well. If you are murderer, you also get the ability to sprint and see player footsteps. The goal for the murderer is to kill all the bystanders, without being killed himself/herself, before the time ends.

And next, we have the bystanders. There can be two or more bystanders in one game. One bystander is given a gun at the beginning of the game. With a gun, you can shoot the murderer. However, if you shoot another bystander, the gun will drop and you will be blinded. A bystander's goal is to kill the murderer without being killed himself/herself, or stay alive until time runs out.

The objective is very simple. Kill the other team. In order to do this, you need a weapon. You can get a new weapon by collecting 5 emeralds on either team. If you are a murderer, you can click the first tool to exchange those 5 emeralds for a Sword. You can change identities (with someone you already killed) with the second tool. (You must be standing over his/her body.) If you are a bystander, you are automatically given a weapon once you collect 5 emeralds. Every time from then on that you get 5 emeralds, your weapon will be upgraded. This results in a quicker reload. Gun v1 is about a 3 second reload. Gun v2 is about a 1 second reload. Gun v3 is about half a second reload. This can be very helpful if you are a bystander. Gun v3 is the max you can get. Any emeralds after just count towards your coins. NOTE: Low Karma results in needing more emeralds for weapons.



COINS

At the end of each game, you are given a set amount of coins. This is based on your game performance. Each emerald you collect gives you coins. If you win as the murderer, you get a lot of coins. If you shoot the murderer as a bystander, you also get a lot of coins. The quicker you do either, the more coins you will get.

The coins that you earn can be spent on a variety of things. You can use your coins to get hats, to look cool with your secret murder identity. You can get upgrades to help you out while you are playing. And Last but not least, you can purchase better-looking armor and weapons. To open up the shop, click on the emerald in the lobby. NOTE: Everything except Upgrades provide no game benefits.

One of the great things you can get are hats. Hats provide no benefit while you are playing, but they look pretty cool. You can purchase more than 100 different hats. The more you play, the more hats that can be unlocked, and the bigger your hat collection can become!

Upgrades can be very helpful in a really tough game. There are four upgrades that you can buy. The first one that you can buy is a Double Emeralds upgrade. Every emerald that you collect has a chance to yield two emeralds instead of one. The second upgrade for the bystander's gun. This upgrade makes you have a chance to reload in half the time. Thirdly is a knife upgrade. If you threw your knife, it takes about 20 seconds for you to get it back. This upgrade gives you a chance to get it back in half that time. And the final upgrade is a points (Coins) upgrade. At the end of each game, you will be rewarded an extra percentage of coins if you buy this upgrade.

The last cool thing you can do with coins is buy upgraded armor and weapons. Although not beneficial in any way, it makes the user look really cool. You can get five different armor types as well as five different weapon types. You buy equipment in the shop (emerald) and equip it using "Select Equipment." (Ender Chest)

You can get to your profile by clicking your head. Once there, you can see tons of stuff. You can see your achievements, murderer stats, bystander stats, and general stats as well.

You can get to the achievements by clicking on the nether star. Achievements are just something fun to do while you are bored. You get achievement points for earning achievements, but currently those points have no use. You can earn achievements by doing various things while in-game.

SECRET IDENTITIES

In every game of murder, you are given a secret identity. You are sometimes disguised as a famous Minecrafter or some noob you don't even know. Listed below are just some of the many many names you could be disguised as.

MAPS

One of the many neat things about Murder are the maps that you get to play on. Lots of time and dedication has gone into building these maps. In the spoiler below are all the maps you can play on, some pictures of them, and a description about its features.

Spoiler: Maps

Just like the game itself, Clue has a murderer and all others are trying to find out who the murderer is. This map is a house-like map with two floors, an attic, underground passageways, and plenty of rooms with many many secrets.

Spoiler: Clue

What did you expect? There's a bunch of interconnected mines and a giant white dinosaur in the middle of the map. There is both a water pool and lava pool, both about the same size.

Spoiler: Dino Mines

Just as the name suggests, it is a creepy house with cobwebs and corridors. It features a main room with many smaller rooms connected to it. Branching out from the middle are the corridors, looping around to reconnect you to the middle.

Spoiler: Haunted House

From Marketplace to Mazes, this map features a small city-like appearance. Houses are scattered about everywhere. There are about 20 different houses in Italy, and one big one in the middle, which has a maze-like interior.

Featured in space, this moon base has air-tight rooms and caves going underground. There are also many moon rovers scattered. Be careful, because there is no exit, and either you or the murderer has the die in order to escape this low-gravity zone.

A big mansion inside an even bigger forest. There's two fountains and a graveyard, and an underground corridor with a secret room. Dang! The owners of this place must be rich or something.

Ugh, I'm sick and tired of work.. Why do I have to go back in my free time? There is a parking garage, long hallways, and an open workspace, perfect for relaxing and working, while killing all at the same time!

Mom!! Get the camera! Look what I found. This old abandoned lab must've held top secret files or something. Looks like it hasn't been touched in years! You can go through the air vents or explore one of the many rooms in this overgrown lab.

Spoiler: Overgrown Lab

Jungles, Mountains, lots of water, and an old temple come together to form what? An excellent map for both the murderer and bystander to play on. It features a huge temple with mazes inside, and some hidden passageways. There is also a waterfall outside with a cave behind it.
