I think Italy is chosen most is because It's a classic map. The classics are great, in my opinion.

How about a Steam-Punk-esque Type of City. There could be propellers keeping the city up, an Air-Ship dock and an Air-ship that you could go on to. Nothing much, but it's an idea that seems cool.
