I would like to begin my response by thanking you for suggesting this and letting us give you feedback on it.
However, at this point in time, I do not think that this addition is necessary or beneficial for PartyZone's community as I'll be explaining in my points below.
➤ Informative Punishment Reasons & Appeals:
We are currently in the process of implementing a separate area which allows players who are banned from the forums, regardless of the length of the punishment, to appeal. We are aware of this transparent inconvenience, and we are working towards correcting it.
If your punishment reasoning is broad, I suggest contacting a staff member.
There are a few other solutions to doing this outside the forums such as, but not limited to:
- Contacting a staff member in game.
Try catching a staff member online and ask for a member of leadership to contact you, or ask for their Discord.
( Provide your Discord name in the case they would be contacting you. )
- Contact a staff member via our official PartyZone Discord.
If you are not yet apart of this, you can join through mcpz.net/discord.
➤ Permitting users to view the forums when banned:
This suggestion defeats the purpose of the player being banned in the first place, as others' have stated above.
Hypothetical Scenario:
If were to issue a punishment to a player for a hacked client, it wouldn't make sense, nor be idealistic, to allow them to remain on the network and still participate.
➊ Applying this to the forums, if a player did something wrong, why should we essentially enable them to the same freedom any player has, even when they carelessly broke the rules?
➋ Additionally, allowing banned users view the forums would show that there are barely any consequences to breaking our forum rules.
This can subliminally promote breaking the rules, as the consequences wouldn't be as severe and they are still able to some-what participate and be involved with the community.
Ultimately, I'll be agreeing with what has been stated above by my peers.
There are simply too many concerns and negatives if we were to implement this suggestion. -
