I think the developer team should make a Forums App!
Many mobile users have to use Safari ect. to access the forums- and for me it always logs me out and I have to re-enter my email and password everytime
Pros
1. No more hassle for mobile users having to use safari ect
2. It won't keep on logging me out >:
3. It will be an overall great thing to add!

Cons
1. It will take a while to develop
2. You can always use safari ect

All opinions welcome!
 
This isn't really a suggestion for MCPZ. I may be wrong, but the PZ forums is hosted by a forums-hosting network - if that makes sense. I might wrong, so sorry if I am.
 
Right, so the issue with that is that such a thing would be:

  1. Incredibly time consuming to make
  2. Wouldn’t have a point- mobile users, including safari if you’re not using incognito mode (or equivalent,) work mostly fine
  3. We’re sort of down on our amount of devs already- another project added is another project to worry about at this point. See This thread
 
I suggested this. It was denied. It's simply not worth putting so much effort into an app that maybe only one or two people are going to use.
 
I think that this suggestion is more of a convenience than a necessary feature to add.

I completely understand that it can be quite frustrating using Safari to log onto forums, just to be logged out moments again later but it only takes a few moments to log back in.

Additionally, applications can not be made just like that. It can take months, even over a year, for an application to be decently made. Even after it's made, there is a lot of managing you have to go along with updates [ as phones are continuously excelling within technology ]. Testing also has to be done- constantly and consistently as well.

There is just no time, especially now, to focus on something such as this.
It could be a great suggestion once the network grows, but that itself will take time.
I will be agreeing with the points made above, voting -1.

Thanks for the suggestion. I do like the idea of having a forums app, but I agree with what's been said above.
  • I'm not sure we all understand quite how long it would take for our small dev-team to make something like this. A good app can't generally be made overnight. I think managing/updating the server and forums would be much higher on the list of priorities for the developers. Even if/when the forum app would launch, there would still have to be a lot of testing and bug reporting, and even if all those kinks were smoothed out, the developers would still have to spend a big chunk of their time managing the app and the users on it.
  • The app could cost a bit to make, too, since I assume we wouldn't be charging anything for it on the app store.
  • Because the PZ forums are based on XenForo, a forum-hosting site, I assume there would be some massive issues in syncing information between those two platforms - that's why people can just access the website on Safari or Google Chrome.
  • What would be so different about it that would be worth spending a ton of time to make it?
I can't be in support of this suggestion right now. Sorry. I think the issues are too big right now.

I don't think that's what they mean, they meant they design it into an actual app available on the play store.

It wouldn't be on PlayStore since it isn't significant, I'd assume there would be a link somewhere on the homepage to direct you to the download.
