Forums Profile Picture Gif

Make it so that we can make our profile picture into a gif. I think that would be awesome.

Like make it an Elite+ Only or Elite and up thing to be able to do on the forums.

agreed! i've wanted to have a gif as a profile picture before and i haven't been able to, it's kinda annoying. :/

You can already have gifs as a profile picture. Xenforo supports gifs as profile pictures, but they need to be 200x200px (that's the recommended size I believe) the only problem is that it doesn't display the frames until you've clicked on the profile picture.

If there's some other way where the gifs can be larger and it plays without you having to click on it then I'd love to see that implemented! But I think it's a matter of whether Xenforo can actually do that - I hope it can.

Are you sure you saved it as a gif file? I opened it in a new tab and it says jpg as shown in the image:

I like this suggestion but I don’t think it should be limited to Elite and up since it’s such a small perk and players shouldn’t have limits to what they can set as their profile pictures.

xenforo can do that and the gifs aren't a restricted size. it's dependent on the permissions and settings of the site itself. because while i have seen it, this is on one of the largest gaming forums that has over a million members and brings in 3-5 million dollars monthly, so they can afford to allow users to have a gif pfp.

So what are the permissions of PZ's site? It seems to be established that XenForo can do it, but maybe PZ has that option turned off...?

I like the idea of having GIF avatars, but I don't really have much to say about it being a perk of a specific rank. I'm only VIP, so I'd love to have it (if it was implemented), but I completely understand if the developers want to give this perk to a higher rank.

I'd just be sad forever. ;(
