This suggestion stems from a player who was muted on the official PZ discord, they then proceeded to appeal their mute, ultimately having to sit through their entire punishment without receiving a response.

Their original suggestion on the discord
can be found here

Ultimately, I believe if you’re punished for a lengthy amount of time, both the discord staff and network staff should have a requirement of responding to appeals within half the length of it.
If only seems fair and reasonable for the players who feel they’ve been wrongly punished, I believe they shouldn’t have to sit through their punishment if they were wrongly punished.

This suggestion also piggy back’s onto @unstinc ‘s feedback thread, that can be found here

Feel free to leave your feedback

Yes this would be useful, but it's not really realistic to have the staff member check the forums in exactly 30 minutes if it was an hour long mute. Players appeal at different times, and say they appealed at around 55 minutes through their hour long mute, I doubt the staff member would check the forums every 5 minutes if they're also trying to moderate chat. This sounds like a good idea but could use a few restrictions so that it's not abused.

I mentioned within my post that if it was a lengthy punishment. I understand completely that staff may have other things to attend to.
I would never expect a staff member to be constantly checking the forums, Discord, etc for a appeal, I’m rather talking about lengthier punishments.

Must have read over that, whoops! Possibly an exact time limit? Also would this be the same for bans and such?

No problem at all!
I wouldn’t exactly recommend adding an exact time limit, somewhere within half the time of lengthy punishment.
Also, all punishment that can be appeal/apply to this.

I mean what would be around the time of the punishment that staff members have to reply to the player's appeal, if that makes any sense.
Even warns? Because those aren't very urgent and players can still go on the network and do everything.

Oh I mistook what you meant!
Are you asking what my definition of a lengthy punishment is?
I’m not sure about this, and this can definitely be changed. I was thinking around 3 hours+.
My mistake, warns do not apply as they don’t restrict a player’s activity within the network or the discord.

Yeah. Maybe 6 hours plus would be better? If not then 4. 3 seems a little bit too small.

As one of the managers, I do understand that we need to focus more on the punishment appeals. Currently, our Discord Punishment Appeals form can only be viewed by the Management Team and the Staff Manager. After the incident that occurred on the Discord, the Management Team's main focus was to make sure all of the permissions, channels etc. were fine and ready to go. We apologize if any appeals have been missed during when the incident occurred and now. Now, you might be asking why the Managers are the only staff members who can view the appeals. Google Forms requires an email in order to view the responses from a form. It will only be a waste of time to add/remove emails since our Discord moderation team changes constantly. After reading Squid's suggestion on Discord, I have suggested to the Management Team an easier method we could use for future punishment appeals which would allow both PartyZone and Discord staff members to view them.

Again, I personally would like to apologize if any appeals have been missed during the week. Overall, I do agree with what's been said above and I will make sure that we improve our activity around the appeals.

For the record I never got a response to my appeal, and it’s been nearly 24 hours so I expected at least some kind of response but oh well

Staff members can take up to a week to respond to punishment appeals, please be patient.

I think we should not discuss private punishments on the forums. If you have an issue, please contact a staff member to discuss your punishment.

As for the suggestion, I think the Discord staff members do need to pay attention to appeals before the person gets unmuted/unpunished again. Otherwise there'd be no point in having appeals if they do not respond "ASAP" as promised.

This suggestion isn’t only for the discord staff, this would be for the network staff as well.

I also think this sort of validates my point. If it takes a week to reply to a punishment that has already been expired, there isn’t a point in appealing at all.

This definitely makes sense. I agree that a better method should be used. If regular partyzone staff can not access discord punishment appeals, in my own opinion they should not be giving punishments on discord, and I mean no disrespect with that statement.

It rarely takes a full week to respond to a punishment appeal- only cases usually being if the staff member is on holiday.

Well it’s been a solid 6 days and counting
Was your punishment appeal for a discord punishment? If so I’m unsure of the procedure there, I’m talking about server punishment appeals.
