DISCORD OR TEAMSPEAK?​

Recently, TeamSpeak has been inaccessible to players, and has been very inactive, in terms of Partiers chatting with others. However, our official Discord server is up and running!​


We would like YOUR feedback and answers:
Should we KEEP everything on TeamSpeak as it is, and why?​


OR​


Should we migrate to the Discord server, and why?​


Please take your time, and answer a few quick questions regarding which platform the community will use to primarily communicate with in the future, here.​


(Remember: YOUR answers and feedback will play a huge part in which platform we decide to migrate to! Your responses are also ANONYMOUS!)​

I think Discord is better because Its easier to download, and quicker to use.

I prefer TS. It’s been a thing that PZ has used for as long as I can remember. TeamSpeak is also a lot less cluttered in my opinion. I like to talk to people and it’s confusing in Discord. So many channels. I always hate how things pile up and when you do get pinged, you sometimes have to scroll up to find it. It’s always nice to be able to poke a staff member as well. While DMs within Discord are an option, it isn’t always received as fast and sometimes people will leave before a staff member is able to punish.

Side note: I've heard from users that they need to Pay for TeamSpeak on some of their devices. (In the past)

Pretty sure it’s only mobile that makes you pay.

I'd Like it if the server switched to discord. It's much easier to navigate and used by quite a few people. With teamspeak I'm pretty sure that the only way you can use it is to download it. With discord you can use it online as well as download it. Also Discord is more well known, so more people will know it.
 
I am banned from the discord and dont see myself getting unban anytime soon So I like Teamspeak right now : ) )
 
Um for some reason I got kicked from the discord by the pz bot and it said have a nice bread so if someone would answer that for me they would be great


ALSO yeah we should definitely move to discord it’s a lot popular and it has so many things that I think make it better (also team speak doesn’t work with my pc :p)

Everyone was kicked for unknown reasons, but the discord is back up! Click here to join back.
 
Honestly I prefer Discord dew to a few reasons, its free on both Phone/mobile and on the computer/PC/Mac etc. Its easier to use and navigate as its the same layout also. Although Team speak us better for talking you can still add voice channels in discord as well as having my designated typing channels.

Discord:
+ Modern design
+ Easier to use
+ No upper limit to connections per server
+ Proper friend system, allowing people to talk whenever
+ Loads of reasonable bots for free, some good ones for money
+ Easy setup
+ Free globally
+/- No way to view IPs, harder to view ban evasion, but better for the user's security
- No native support for time based punishments, requires bot
- No way to host yourself, so it could crash at any moment & you have no control (though this isn't too often)

Teamspeak:
+ Native support for any timed punishments
+ If allowed by server, temporary channels can be created for private use
+ Icons for ranks
+ You can host it yourself, meaning it should only go down when your server goes down
- Difficult setup
- Can't view server without connecting to it
- Costs money to have more than 32 users (iirc at least)
- Mobile app costs money

Honestly, discord seems more user oriented & modern, if you get used to it it becomes easier to use. Teamspeak has a good amount of functionality but it's confusing & outdated.
 
Discord. Why Do I choose this? Well, I have been using discord for awhile now, *2015* and I think It is much easier than TS*TeamSpeak.* The communication system in Discord is easy. all you have to do is talk in a server, jf you want to private message... You much click the username, and send a message in the Message @*Username* . TeamSpeak's communication system is confusing. Discord always gets updated to the Modern time. TS is old and outdated for me. So, that's 1+ for discord from me.
 
I like both discord and teamspeak, for different reasons. Teamspeak is much harder to learn for newer people, and I don't really like that people have to verify their account to join a channel (yes it can prevent bots, but it's hard for players to do and a lot of people don't have effort to do it and therefor don't use it). I like that Teamspeak has a recording option, as it's useful for meetings and such. Teamspeak also doesn't lag my computer when playing other games. Discord is easier to learn, the controls aren't as hard and there's the option for text channels without voice channels (so there's more people talking). I like that people don't have to connect their accounts as well but that it's encouraged. The two things about discord that I don't like is that there isn't a recording option (not a huge thing) and that I'm unable to go onto PZ while connected to a voice channel.
 
We should definitely move to discord. It's more modern and definitely more popular. It is also easier to use and is more accessible to the public

Discord ready to knock TS out; but TS is like "ah hell nah"
 
Discord (I believe) is the more accessible to players than TeamSpeak which is why I believe we should migrate to Discord!
