just before i start, my story 'Sue' is about a girl who wakes up in a hospital bed with no knowing why. her nurse, whose name she discovers to be Mary-Rose cares for her in her room as she is told she has no family whom know her/care. this first part is called memories. ♡
part one// memories.
...
"Sue, Sue, Can you hear me Sue?"
I can hear a soft voice calling out to me, it's muffled but I can make out what they're saying.
"Sue? Oh this isn't good! Grab that for me would you, Carl"
It calls me again, and then I can hear shuffling about and somebody grabbing my wrist- tightly. I feel a sharp pain rush through my body as I awaken. A short, plump lady is hovering over me, analysing my features and more vividly my eyes.
"Sue, honey!" she says, "What a relief, you were having another one, you know, a fit"
I look at her confused. A fit? What does she mean? In my 19 years of live, never have I ever had a fit, so how is this another one? As I look down, I see bruises and cuts painted all around my body, and I feel myself burning up. Sweat drips off of my face onto my chest as the plump lady, who is dressed as a nurse, sits me upright.
"Who are you again?" I ask, trying to remember a single thing.
She starts to laugh and a man who comes by her side chuckles also.
"Sue, dear, don't start this one again!" she says, her tone becoming more intimidating, "You know me!" I look at her once more but I don't remember anything.
"I, I really dont," I say, "What is your name?"
"I'm Mary-Rose, Sue. I'm your nurse, come on- you remember me!"
Nurse? I think. But I'm not sick, am I? As I look around the quaint hospital room, I see computers, needles, medicines and more importantly, a log emblazoned with the name 'Susan Cullen- patient 0024,' Mary-Rose is now neatening up my bed and then filling up sharp needles with mysterious liquids.
"What's that, Mary-Rose?" I say, pointing to the thick leather log with my name on.
"What, dear? Oh that, that's nothing!" she says scuttling over and placing the log into a drawer and locking it shut. "Now, Sue, you must get some rest." Then I feel another sharp pain spreading through my body, and I'm soon fast asleep.
