Supermarket Rush!
Supermarket Rush.. what is it?

This party game will be a game for 12 players. Each player will be a ‘shopper’. The aim of the game is to collect everything from your shopping list.

Shoppers: Each shopper will get a shopping list (in the corner or at the top center of the player’s screen.) The shoppers must rush around the supermarket and find and collect all the items on their list (15-20, depending on how big the supermarket is) before the time runs out. However, once you have collected an item from your shopping list, that item will spawn in a different place, so if someone needed the same item as you, they’d have to find it somewhere else. As suggested by @jedijoe , each shopper will get a trolley/shopping cart (probably a mine cart). Non ranks will have the chance to unlock them, but like the hat system in Murder, ranks will have certain carts that they can unlock which non ranks can’t.

Power ups: When a player runs into a floating object (eg: a snowball or a gold block), they will be given a 10 second power up. These power ups can either be advantages, or curses.
Advantages > speed, jump boost, a compass to their next item.
Disadvantages > blindness, slowness, poison.
As suggested, you can also give other shoppers curses. So instead of giving yourself blindness, you could possibly give it to someone else!

Shopping list: Every shopping list will be the same, so it’s fair for every player, but the objects placement will be different every time. On the shopping list there will be:
> Red apple, carrot, watermelon, pumpkin, water, milk, eggs.
> Steak, porkchop, cooked mutton, chicken, fish, cooked salmon, cooked rabbit, bread.
> Potato, rabbit stew, mushroom stew, cake, cookie.
However, you can only collect the following item in your list. Let’s say you was about to pick up an apple, but your next item in your list was actually a cookie, the apple wouldn’t count.
But be careful when picking up your items, as to some may be mouldy! Picking up a mouldy item off your shopping list will give you a curse.

Teams: This version has been suggested, and I have been thinking about it and it seems like a good idea to add in. When you play in teams (teams will be chosen randomly, unless you’re in a party), it has the same aim of the normal version, but you will have double the items on the shopping list and there will be more of a variety to shop for (clothes, tools etc). There won’t be any power ups to get/give to other players to switch things up.

The first shopper to collect everything from the shopping list is the winner!
If anyone has any other ideas to add to this, feel free to suggest anything.
Thanks for reading, I hope you like this party game. :)

This gives me a sort of "Colour Chase" vibe, though I love the unique twist you added to this version and I would definitely prefer this over the original one. +1

I think this would be a lot of fun! It might be nice to have some powerups that inflict those negative effects on other players, not just the player who runs into the powerup. That way, there's a little more incentive to grab the powerup because you could have a chance to get something good, something bad, or to give something bad to someone else.

I also really like the idea of having items change locations; that really makes it more of a race between two or more players to a specific location.

Overall, I love this idea! Thank you for the suggestion!

I have seen a minigame done in a style similar to this on a few different servers in the past.

This idea is very nice, and I don’t see many issues with it. I only ask a few things:
  • How big will the map(s) be?
  • What is the time limit for each round?
  • Will there be several rounds?
  • What prizes will be given to the winner/runner up (amount of coins per item picked up, a bonus for winning the game, a bonus for picking up the most power ups)?
  • What power ups would be available?
  • Could there be sabotages (power ups that negatively affect other players/teams)?
  • Can/will there be cosmetics/upgrades that you can purchase using coins?
I also agree that it does seem very similar to colour chase, but this version does seem a little more intriguing, and is a little bit easier to grasp.

Adding on, I think there should be a team option, where you can team up with a friend (doubles) and collect the items on your “shopping list.” The new list should have double the items on it, just so the game doesn’t end very quickly.

I also think there should be a little bit more of a challenge, as running around collecting items seems a little bit too easy. Possibly, an issue people can encounter are “moldy foods” where players pick up the food and it tells them, “it looks like this <food item> has spoiled!” or something that sets them back a little.

For the most part, I would be a +1 for this idea, but since we have colour chase already in the works, I will have to stay neutral unless I am convinced otherwise.

Thank you for reading this. There will only be one round in this game, so it will have the same time limit as for any other party game. There will be given a prize to the winner, and the prize will be the amount of items they picked up (as you suggested) in coins. As @Emviar also suggested, I think adding a power up where you can sabotage other shoppers will make this game more enjoyable, so I will add that in. I was also thinking that once you have a certain amount of coins, you can buy a cosmetic (eg: boots) which will gives you an extra speed boost throughout the whole game. Or a magic wand/stick that will allow you to not pick up any mouldy food.

As for the mouldy food suggestion, I think this will add to the game, so I will also add that idea in as I think it will make the game more enjoyable and more competitive.

And as for the teams, I think I will add that in too, but I might take away the power ups in that version to switch it up a bit.

Thank you for suggesting these and asking those questions to improve this party game. :)

I haven't really seen a game suggestion like this. Though there where some missing details. I really like rushing games too, but I get too competitive in them XD. I'll really like to see it around, all in all. :)

+1

I agree with most people, there are some details missing but I would definitely play this. I feel like it’s unique to partyzone and could bring in some publicity. But someone I do have to quote on
>How can you create different maps? Won’t they all look the same?

But great game! +1

This game seems pretty cool! I would play it for hours if implemented!

It's would be a great game but I need some little explanations.
  • Can you pick up items in the order you want as long as it's on your list or you have to always pick the item at the top of your list?
  • How the items that you need will appear ? A floating item (like the power-ups), skulls that you could click on to pickup (like how they did on a famous server as a christmas event), would it be in a chest or an item frame ?
Also what about a compass to track your next item as a power-up ? I think it would be easier to use than a map (it's my opinion you're not obligated to change it)
And last thing, would it be possible to have other things than food to pickup ? Like clothes, appliance or decoration object ? Some of them would be damaged to replace the moldy state.

Thank you for reading my suggestion.
You may only pick up the next item on your list, for example, if your first item was a carrot, but there was milk in front of you, you would have to get the carrot first, as the milk wouldn’t count, that way, it’s more of a race.

The power ups will be a floating item like in freeze tag, such as a snowball or a golden block for example. As for the items, you would need to right-click it to tick it off your list.

A compass is a good idea to use as a power up and I feel like that would too be easier than a map, so I’ll add that in. As for your last suggestion, I’m thinking that you could pick up different items (clothes, equipment etc) in the teams version as there would be double the amount of items. :)

I love this idea and think it's very creative, +1!
Just a few questions:
  • How big will the maps be?
  • Will there be other game modes (Ex: Teams, 3v3, etc.)?
  • Are there going to be perks for ranked players?
  • Is the list going to be the same each round or will the order of everything change?
  • What would the poison effect be useful for?

Those are all of my questions and some of my suggestions are:

  • Maybe for the boots, different ones could have different speeds. I'll list the slowest to fastest beneath.
- Leather boots > Gold boots > Iron boots > Diamond boots.
  • Maybe for some perks, (Just some examples) Elite and up won't get mouldy foods, Vip and up can have a powerup that gives them one free item each game (Can only use once), Elite+ and up can have a powerup that gives curses to other players. (Available once per game)

And that's everything that I have to say and I love this idea of a game type!

Having a pay to win game doesn’t comply with the EULA so this wouldn’t work. Spending coins could be the way to buy curses & faster boots. I think the moldy item idea I suggested a while ago could be a 1/10 chance, but you can purchase “Pesticides” or something along the lines of that to reduce it to a 1/15, then 1/30, then 1/50 then 1/100, sort of like double emeralds but backwards.

Thank you for reading my suggestion! :) to answer your questions...

  • I think the map will be the same size of the freeze tag ‘bedroom’ map, however I’m not too sure what would be best.
  • There will be two game modes, single player and teams (made up of 2 players).
  • Ranked players will get perks, but obviously they won’t be over powered, here are some example of what u was thinking...
Vips > bigger chance of getting jump boost.
Vips+ > better chance of giving someone else slowness and getting speed.
Elite > bigger chance of avoiding mouldy food.
Elite+ and up > bigger chance of getting a compass to their next item.
If there are any better suggestions for that, please suggest them.
  • The list will change each round but it will keep the same objects, so the items will be re organised so no one memorises the pattern.
  • The poison effect would be useful because whilst you’re running, it will take hearts off of you, slowing you down. You cannot die in this game though.
I like the boots idea, but I’m going to add in 5 if them like this... Leather boots > Gold boots > Chainmail boots > Iron boots > Diamond boots.

That's still in violation of EULA, if I'm not mistaken, because it gives donors an advantage over defaults.

I’ll have a look now, however these are only ideas, they haven’t actually been added in my suggestion. :)

No problem! I just want to make sure the suggestion doesn't get shot down immediately by higher-ups because of the possible EULA violations. I still love this suggestion!
