So, I'm writing this story, just as a writing exercise, because i need inspiration for my two other books and this one. So you can PM me to be a character in this book, you'll most likely just be an extra, but i guess, it doesn't matter. This books mainly for me to get my brain working. Even if i can't write, with or without inspiration. So enjoy this short story. Tbh, the thread will get locked, because nobody cares, lmao.
Evan sighed as the rain splashed outside the window of the bleak, and cold room. He was sitting inside of the schools gym room benches, and a thin, yet bright window, which lay above the benches he sat on. Suddenly a loud voice interrupted Evans deep thoughts.
"You're out!" The loud man cried and the poor boy who sat up next to Evan, who looked devastated. Evan grinned at the boy. "You did amazing." Evan used his fingers as quotation marks to signal he was joking. The boy rolled his eyes.
"Sorry, may i ask shy you're sitting here?" The boy smirked. Evan grunted, "I got distracted..." he trailed off. The boy sitting next to him laughed. "Byyyy." The boy teased. "Oh shut up Aiden." Evan couldn't help but grin though at the boys silliness.
Quinn stared across the cold gym room and shivered. "You're up." The coach yelled to her from the other side of the gym, making a loud, irritating, echo. Quinn ran into the middle of the court and stood there in position. "Go!" The coach yelled once again, creating the same echo. Quinn, startled took to the right side of the gym court area, and her friend Orlaith, practically punched the ball harder than you'd think possible to Quinn, who barely got it, shooting for the, poorley set up, goal. Orlaith grinned and Quinn gave a small wink at her as she shot her hardest at the goal, practically by the skin of her teeth, it went in. This would've been impressive if this was a real match, though the others just looked up and admired the kick in silence.
"Yeah, yeah, get off the court." The coach yelled at Quinn. Quin rolled her eyes as she climed onto the top row of the benches and soon was followed by her friend Orlaith. They smiled at each other. "That was pretty good!" The two said insync and gave a laugh.
Sitting inches away from the girls, was Evan and Aiden. Though Quinn and Orlaith were oblivious to this, the boys were not. "And to think, I even had a second thought you got distracted by something else." Aiden grinned. Evan blushed, but quickly hid it. "Haha very funny." Evan rolled his eyes. But Aiden was gone.
"Hey Orlaith. Quinn." A boy looked at the two girls. "Hi Aiden." Orlaith smiled, though Quinn was silent and barely waved. Orlaith gave Aiden a small peck on the cheek. Evan slid his way across to the group and smiled. "Hey." He said. Aiden grinned.
"No..." Evan whispered to Aiden. "Dare you." Aiden said, also whispering. Evan sighed heavily. "Hey, Quinn, me and Orlaith are going to the cinema on Friday at 5. We were thinking you and Evan could ome with us." Aiden grinned. "We are? Oh yeah!" Orlaith quickly changed her answer as Aiden nudged her arm. Evan sighed. Quinn looked to (rlaith and finally said, in a quiet voice, "Sure...." Aiden smiled. "Perfect." He smiled.
"Aiden, Rebecca, Elizabeth, Jamie and Oliver! On court now!" The coachs irritating voice echoed. "Sir, Rebeccas sick." The summery looking blond, Orlaith yelled. "Fine, Orlaith take her place." The coach grunted. Orlaith sighed.
When the two left, it was just Quinn and Evan. Evans heart was beating faster than a car on the freeway. Quinn was akward and quiet, staring at the window which lay above the benches. "So.. uh." Evan attempted to converse. Quinn just stared at him, eyes lacking interest. She looked tired and dried out, like she wasted her energy on something. "You have very detailed eyes." Evan suddenly said, immediately regretting opening his mouth. To his surprise, Quinn just smiled. Evan felt hot and suddenly stood up. "Coach can i get a bathroom pass?" Evan ran up to the bulky man. His beady eyes stared into Evans soul as he nodded. Evan shivered as he ran off into the massive hallways.
Quinn just stared at the empty space. "Aw, little girl scared the big boy away. Boo hoo." A tall girl, with long brown hair, and a blond highlight at the very front of her side fringe. She had dark brown eyes and had a tanned like skin. She was quite skinny for a girl her age. The gidl mocked her as she spoke. Quinn froze. "H..hi Marian." Quinns voice was quiet and it was trailing off. The girl grinned and smacked her two hands next to Quinn, getting up in her face, litreally. "Look, I've warned you before and I'm not going to do it again." Marian whispered in a sick voice. "You never warned me?" Quinn said quisetivly. Suddenly she felt her face burn like fire, as Marians hand collided with her cheek.
"I told you... Evan may be your neighbour, but it doesn't mean you own him. I let that little twat take the other one, and I'm not letting you take this from me, so go back to the little shrink you came from and never come back. Go k-" Marian hissed until she was interrupted by a familiar voice. "Hi Marian." Evan smiled.
"Evannnnnn...." Marian giggled, twirling her hair. Quinn rolled her eyes.
Quinn sat through the boring and painful dialogue between Evan and Marian. She sighed. This was an unforgettable, hated, moment, Quinn thought. Suddenly a loud, deafening, whistle rang throughout the gym. "Move out, move out." The coach yelled. Quinn grinned. 'Finally' she thought.
Quinn frowned as she entered the quiet house. No one was home yet. Normally kids her age would be ecstatic, though Quinn was beginning to hate the idea of knowing she was alone in a house, two doors away from a 'haunted' house. She grinned suddenly at the idea of the haunted house and jumped upstairs, dropping the bag at the top of the stairs.
Quinn turned on the red, apple branded, computer. As she turned on the screen, it revealed documents, full of thousands of pages, each beginning with 'Chapter 1' or, what looked like story covers with strange names. Suddenly Quinn opened up a new document, it was titled, 'Creative Writing'.
~ Flashback ~
"What time is it?" A soft mans voice whispered, a middle aged man, with a sandy hair color and a strong olive skin, which went with his mysterious gray eyes. A woman sat next to him, her hair was a beautiful soft brown, and eyes were a beautiful emerald green color. The woman smiled. "Its four. We must hurry, its not every day your daughter releases a book that becomes this successful and thats sequal is being launched tonight." She grinned, and gave a wink to a smaller girl, who looked around 12. It was Quinn. "Yes, daddy! Come on. Also mommy, its my second book! Not a sequal!" The exited little girl squealed and huffed as she corrected her mother. "All right Quinn!" The man laughed, as they headed outside into the family car.
Finally, they exited the families beautiful car, which looked similar to a sports car, but slightly bigger, it was jet black and comfortable inside, and out. Quinn smiled as they entered a massive hotel.
It was an extravagant place, the walls were practically glass, and the model of the hotel was quite futuristic, yet classic. The rooms were fancy and the lobby was massive. A massive chandelier hung from the lobby roof, and the desk was beautiful smooth oak wood, with golden words carved into it. The floor was a polished, smooth, marble. Quinn skidded over to the desk. "May i.." the man at the desk paused and examined Quinn, and smiled. "Go right in Miss Puckett." And Quinn entered through the massive glass doorway, heading towards a massive bar.
About an hour later there was a whole setup on the stage in the bar. In the middle lay a large stand, with about a thousand of books on it, laying ontop of each other. Quinn sat in a small satin chair next to the stand and picked up one of the books. Many people stood infront of the stage. Quinn took a mic, and released a deep breathe. And begun the speach she never thought she'd ever share.
"So. When i released my first book, i never thought people would accept it, and that it would be one of those books that just sat in the back, behind the... Harry Potter books, or something. But now I'm making a second book. And i can also confirm I'll be realising a third book. Anywho, i didn't write this speach, my dad did, so yeah, credit to that guy. And my family. And all the team who made this possible. And thanks to myself, for having a forced, interesting life. I will now begin the reading of the start of 'Creative Writing'." Quinn smiled.
As she was near the end of Chapter 2 a massive bang was heard from the back of stage. Quinn was startled and her book fell from her hands. The audience begun panicking, running out of the room. A small girl with a blondish hair colour, and freckles. She was tanned and her eyes were a green like Quinns mother. The girl ran up to Quinn. "Do you need help?" The girl sounded panicked, but Quinn couldn't really tell, as she had a think accent which she could barely make out what she was saying.
Quinn regretted her quick nodd to the girl as they ran into the back stage. The two young girls hid behind a speaker, which had been used for Quinn, worried someone was there. Untill she looked to the area, no one was there but... there was their remains.
All Quinn could see at the time was a blur, and the voice of the girl she'd met shouting,"I'm so sorry, sorry, sorry, sorry." She could hear the girl crying, out of the sight of Quinns parents and baby brothers corpse, covered in blood. The parents were drenched in their own blood yet Quinns baby brother, Marcus, lay crying on the floor screaming. The girl took out a phone, with a case decorated in patterns and was a vibrant pink.
"They're dead! Help hes barely alive, please help." Quinn felt herself screaming repeatedly. Her emotions and tears only beginning to catch up with her surroundings. Her tears stung and streamed down across her face.
"Quinn.... My name is Orlaith, and i promise he'll be okay." The girl with the strange accent put on a brave smile for her, but it was falling apart, just like everything around them
~ Flashback End ~
Suddenly, as Quinn flipped through the pages of the document, she begun to cry.
"Its not good enough!" She screamed, throwing the laptop at the bed.
"Quinn?" A small boy entered the room. He was a small brunnette with gray eyes like Quinn's, along with her skin, yet on his forehead, lay a massive scar. "I'm sorry!" Quinn cried, running to her brother, and hugging him. "I'll never let that happen again! I swear." She cried, rubbing the scar. Suddenly, Quinn was no longer the only one crying.
