(This gametype was originally suggested by @iGR in April, 2015. I wanted to remake the suggestion as it seemed to get a lot of positive feedback.)

Shiver me pixels is obviously a pirate themed game. It's a competitive gamemode in which players have to fight to stay alive, collect and bury their own treasure.

Spawning location:
There is one big floating island with multiple chests hidden beneath it's sandy surface, (these chests have higher chance of containing emeralds) surrounded by 8 smaller islands - these smaller islands are the initial spawn points for players. Each player starts off with their own island. On the players island there is a double chest with a sign above it saying "bury me!" - the players job is to try their best to protect their chest by burying it under blocks they can purchase from the Captain. There will be 2 minutes of invincibility to allow each pirate to have a good chance at looking for their treasure/burying their chest. Singular treasure chests hidden below the sand will refill regularly, every 2 - 4 minutes.

Spawning items (kits - these are entirely up to change or removal);
Gold miner:
x1 Unbreaking Wooden shovel
x1 Unbreaking Leather leggings and chestplate
Raider:
x1 Unbreaking Stone shovel
x1 Unbreaking Chain helmet and leggings
Tracker:
x1 Unbreaking Wooden shovel
x1 Unbreaking Leather helmet and chestplate
x1 Compass (used to see the direction of treasure on your island.)
(You can obtain kits by either; reaching a certain level, using coins, if goodie bags are released maybe you can find them through that.)

Maps:
While I don't have any examples of maps (I can't build) they'll have to be relatively large, and the islands should be about 45+ metres away from each other. The islands will be floating (@Nerdehhh suggested that instead of floating islands, they could just be islands surrounded by water - entering the water will deal damage, as pirates can't swim!)

Player limit:
There will be a limit of 8 players, at least 6 for the game to actually start.

Time limit:
The game will last for about 15 minutes - if after this time, the remaining players will draw.

Captain:
An NPC that allows you to Right-click him (opening a chest sort of GUI) and trade treasure for goodies. These goodies can help you break blocks faster, as well as attack your enemies with powerful strikes. The Captain expects you to pay certain expense before the trade.
The Captain also sells Island upgrades, which allow you to have luckier treasure chests (higher chance to obtain more amounts of gold, iron and diamonds at your own island), or even add traps!​
- Cannonfire; when a player sets foot next to your chest, fireballs will be thrown at the player, igniting them on fire. (costs 6 emeralds - have to repurchase after use.)
- Plank; launches the player 10 blocks into the air when stepping foot on your island, as if they've just bounced on the edge of the wooden plank (costs 6 emeralds - have to repurchase after use.)
- Sixth sense; a map appears in your hotbar when a player has stepped near your treasure, alerting you (or) a message appears in your chat when a player has stepped near your treasure (costs 4 emeralds - have to repurchase after use.)

Objective of the game:
You must use your starter shovel to dig through the sand below your aching feet, in order to find buried treasure! The treasure will consist of items such as iron bars, gold bars, gold nuggets, diamonds and sticks to craft pirate tools with. Some examples of pirate tools are;
- Wooden sword (can be purchased from the Captain for 3 iron bars)
- Stone sword (can be purchased from the Captain for 8 iron bars)
- Iron sword (can be purchased from the Captain for 6 gold bars)
- Diamond sword (can be purchased from the Captain for 3 diamonds)​

- Blocks; Wool, Cobblestone, Stone, Sandstone, Wood (blocks are used to build to other islands or protect your double chest.)
Wool: 2 Iron bars for 16 pieces. (Breaks pretty fast.)
Cobblestone: 6 Iron bars for 8 pieces. (Takes longer to break than wool.)
Stone: 2 Gold bars for 4 pieces. (Takes longer to break than cobblestone.)

Sandstone: 4 Gold bars for 8 pieces. (Takes longer to break than stone.)
Wood: 2 Diamonds for 4 pieces. (Strongest block in the game, takes a relatively long time to break.)

(Pickaxes help break through Stone, Cobblestone and Sandstone faster.)
- Wooden pickaxe (can be purchased from the Captain for 1 iron bar.)
- Stone pickaxe (can be purchased from the Captain for 10 iron bars.)
- Iron pickaxe (can be purchased from the Captain for 8 gold bars.)
- Diamond pickaxe (can be purchased from the Captain for 12 gold bars.)

(Axes help break through Wood faster.)
- Stone axe (can be purchased from the Captain for 10 iron bars.)
- Diamond axe (can be purchased from the Captain for 14 gold bars.)

(Shovels help break through Wool and Sand faster.)
- Wooden shovel (beginning item dependant on kit, can't purchase from Captain.)​
- Stone shovel (only obtainable through kit.)
- Iron shovel (can be purchased from the Captain for 4 iron bars.)
- Golden shovel (can be purchased from the Captain for 2 gold bars - breaks sand extremely fast and breaks wool same speed as shears.)

Leather armour;
- x1 Helmet (can be purchased for 1 iron bar.)
- x1 Chestplate (can be purchased for 2 iron bars.)
- x1 Leggings (can be purchased for 2 iron bars.)
- x1 Boots (can be purchase for 1 iron bar.)

Chain armour;
- x1 Helmet (can be purchased for 8 iron bars.)
- x1 Chestplate (can be purchased for 10 iron bars.)
- x1 Leggings (can be purchased for 10 iron bars.)
- x1 Boots (can be purchased for 8 iron bars.)

Iron armour;
- x1 Helmet (can be purchased for 10 gold bars.)
- x1 Chestplate (can be purchased for 12 gold bars.)
- x1 Leggings (can be purchased for 12 gold bars.)
- x1 Boots (can be purchased for 10 gold bars.)

Diamond armour;
- x1 Helmet (can be purchased for 6 diamonds.)
- x1 Chestplate (can be purchased for 8 diamonds.)
- x1 Leggings (can be purchased for 8 diamonds.)
- x1 Boots (can be purchased for 6 diamonds.)​
With use of the tools, you can either protect your double treasure chest, or voyage to other islands in hopes of finding buried treasure! Beware, as other Pirates are on the look out and may find your hidden treasure. (Players have infinite amount of lives until their chest has been looted.)
To loot a players treasure chest, you have to open the chest and take the diamond block, once the diamond block has been removed from the chest, the owner of that treasure will become vulnerable, and only has one life left.​

I may add more at a later date if I think of anything new that could be added.

First off, Wow this is like really thought out. Second, this sounds like so much fun I would so play this! Third, maybe fitting with the pirate theme instead of a floating island, maybe an island surrounded by water?

[EDIT] Maybe it could be possible to make it so if you touch the water, you would be dealt damage. This would make players retract from going in the water?

I also really like this idea as well. Having the water really helps to add to the whole "pirate atmosphere" of the game!

I really like how much you thought out this gametype as the original thread was lacking a lot of detail. The kits seem fairly nice as they do not overpower each other. I like the idea of the islands surrounded by water as it gives a more 'piratey' feel.

Overall, I can definitely see this becoming a new game and it's quite original! I would most definitely play it.

Where would you get emeralds? If I missed this I apologize.

Overall - Great game! I see some inspiration from other games in there, but all of them clashed together! It's a great combination and I love it. Thanks for taking your time to make a great suggestion! +1!

Not personally my style, kinda sounds like skywars with hidden chests, but it takes skywars and puts a new spin to make it original enough. I say it's good, but I personally might not show up much on it :p

I really love this idea, and I see others enjoying it too! It's very original for PartyZone, and I actually love the pirate theme. Quick question though, I don't know if I missed this but once your chest has been taken/looted , will that player instantly be out of the game or will they have 1 life left?

My guess is that this will become a big game mode if implemented meaning it wouldn't fit user minigame category. You got a nice idea going.

Don't want to sound rude, but the name is just makes me cringe. I can't tell if it's funny, or just makes me curl up. Is it ment to be funny?
