Radiant Garden
A new twist on your typical game of Hide and Seek.
Concept:
There are two teams. The Ghosts, and the Ghost Hunters. The goal of the Ghost Hunters is to exterminate the ghosts in the area who are causing havoc. The goal of the Ghosts is to get rid of the Ghost Hunters so they can continue partying in the afterlife.
.
Rundown:
At the start of the game the ghosts will have to run to find an object to possess. If they do not possess an object, they are completely vulnerable to the Ghost Hunters. The Ghosts will have 60 seconds to find their object. They can right click to possess a block on the map. Then, the Ghost Hunters will spawn on the map. Equipped with various types of gear, the Ghost Hunters are now on the hunt for the spirits haunting the map, which results in a life or death battle between the Ghosts and the Hunters.
.

  • Ghosts: Once the ghosts possess an object they will be equipped with a random offensive PvP ability, along with a weak sword. They will be able to move around as the object they are possessing. Their goal is to kill off the Hunters using stealth and strategy, as their sword (preferably wooden or stone) will be too weak for close quarters combat. They will also have to make use of the ability given to them. These abilities/powerups are:
  • Lighting Strike: Deal 2 Hearts of damage by shooting electricity at the Hunter. Stuns Hunter for 2 seconds, allowing the Ghost to get a few hits in with their sword. 20 second cooldown.
  • Freeze Ray: Deal 2 hearts of damage shooting ice at the Hunter. Freezes Hunter for 4 seconds. 30 second cooldown.
  • Siren Shriek (or Banshee shriek): Create ear piercing vibrations that deal 1 heart of damage, but stun the Hunter for 5 seconds.
  • These are not all the offensive powerups, however I'll leave it up to you guys to suggest some more.
  • Once the Ghosts have been caught by the Hunters, they will be equipped with two new powerups and their sword will disappear. They will also not be able to possess an object for 60 seconds. These powerups will be defensive against the Hunters and will not deal damage. These powerups could include:
  • Ectoplasm: Throw 5 slime balls at the Hunter to slow them down.
  • Howling Wind: Create a gust of wind that blows the Hunter back 3 blocks. 10 second cooldown.
  • Angel Wings: Gain a 3 second speed boost, 50 second cool down.
  • Feel free to suggest more powerup ideas!
  • Hunters: The Hunters will have a "Spirit Wand," which in two hits can release the spirit from the object. Hunters will also be equipped with a Ghost Gun, which will do 4 hearts of damage per shot, and have about a ten second reload time. Once they kill the Ghost the Ghost will respawn as a Hunter.
  • Hunters can find powerups spawned around the map. These powerups could include:
  • Spirit Tracker: Right click the compass to get a hint if a spirit is nearby. "You are not near any spirits right now." "A spirit is nearby!" Disappears on use.
  • Speedy Boots: Delivers a 10 second speed boost, disappears on use.
  • Spirit-Be-Gone: Delivers complete invincibility for 2 seconds, disappears on use. Feel free to suggest more powerups!
For the player count I was thinking 24 players. So we could have 8 Hunters and 16 Ghosts. Unless you would want it to be split evenly.
.
Also, for the maps, they could all be based around creepy locations. From a mansion, to an abandoned hospital, prison, or a sunken ship! Places where ghosts would usually hang out.
.
Map Layout:
I believe the maps should be open in space and not entirely closed in or extremely cluttered. We wouldn't want tons of blocks to get in the way of the PvP element. So, flatter terrains would be most sufficient. However, blocks can still be more prominent in places such as inside buildings, corners, etc.
So to conclude: Outside should be generally flatter terrain, however inside of buildings could have more blocks and scenery.
For example: If the map was a haunted ship, the decks and hallways of the ship would be flatter and more barren. However the rooms inside the ship would be more decorated with blocks for ghosts to possess.
.
Kits:
Kits for Spirits and Hunters that can be purchased with coins. Some kit examples are:
  • Spirit of the Warrior (Ghost): Be equipped with an iron sword, but do not receive any powerups.
  • Spirit of the Mage (Ghost): Be equipped with 2 offensive powerups but do not equip a sword
  • Speedster Hunter: Be equipped with a permanent speed boost but get a downgraded weapon
  • Scavenger: Receive a compass that tracks where powerups have spawned
Please suggest more kit ideas!
.
Shop:
The shop would have purchasable items for the game using coins such as:
  • Customizable armor: Only for aesthetics, would still deliver the same amount of protection. VIP/ELITE exclusive custom armor would be available.
  • Hats: Hats like in Murder, only for aesthetics. VIP/ELITE exclusive hats included.
  • Different weapons: Again, only for aesthetics, still do the same amount of damage.
Please suggest more shop options!
.
Custom Resource Pack:
I believe a custom resource pack would be great for the game to make it more immersive and fun. Plus, a custom resource pack would be a nice change of pace to PZ minigames.
.
I'll be updating this forum once I can come up with new ideas for kits and shop perks. However, I'll be greatly considering your suggestions as well! I have little experience in game design but I tried to explain this as thoroughly as possible so it can he improved for the better. I'll be keeping a change log as well! Feedback is appreciated!
Please read our Suggestion Quality Guidelines thread here before commenting.

Would there be a resource pack needed?

This is very simuliar to the Herobrine game and some other game that was created from the game hidden with being combined with hide in seek. +1 I love it because I orginally love both games. Very creative and seems fun to play. I hope to see this become a option to play good luck.

I really love this idea, and strongly believe this could make everyone laugh and smile. Fun fact, I actually play hide and seek (this is similar too), in the game lobbies with my friend. This should be implemented.

I think this would be a great game! It has a wonderful PZ twist and fun details. I hope they will consider this game mode. +1

This game is really unique for party zone. I also like how you haven't chosen to call it hide or seek or anything similar to that which makes it really original. I'd like to see this game be made in the future! :)

Ah yes! I think it'd be more fun and work better with a custom resource pack. I'll be adding that onto the thread.
Could we make it so we don't "Need" a resource pack as it causes some players problems and they crash but yes maybe when they join the lobby of it a link to it pops up and it is on the PZ Website <3

Or maybe, it could automatically be implemented when you join the said Game?

That is what causes players to crash. They can't handle the resource pack.

You could instead set the server/ lobby to prompt the resource pack always unless to user changes it to no server resource packs or automatically install.
...
It depends on how much the pack is modified. If the resource pack is pretty light you will be perfectly fine. Yet if the resource pack is very heavy you will have a decent amount of issues. For that you could have two versions the light and the heavy version unless it is completely unnecessary.

Hm, maybe the resource pack will have to due with a few modificatons only?

Well no what I said below means a little and heavy version. Light will be for people who don't want to deal with lag or crashing yet want to experance it. Heavy will give maybe a better experance and in the graphics.

+1 this sounds epic. It sounded slightly like freeze tag at first, but it sounds gr8 ;3

It's a good game suggestion, I just have a little issue with the lighting and freeze ray, they're pretty much the same powerup, just that one has a longer duration, generally things need to be even.
Decrease the cooldown on lightning strike maybe?

Done it! Tried to balance it out a bit more, hopefully it's a bit better.

Siren Shriek: Create ear piercing vibrations that deal 1 heart of damage, but stun the Hunter for 5 seconds.
The name for the ghost you're thinking of is Banshee.
A siren is a mythological water creature that lives on islands in the ocean luring sailors to their deaths with beautiful music. Can't quite be described as shrieking. xD
Also yes really good.

I thought "Siren Shriek" had a much nicer ring to it than "Banshee Shriek" but Banshee makes more sense in context.
I'll just add it in in parentheses next to it.
