/Plot moderator

I feel like I've seen a suggestion like this before or at least I would think someone would have. I'm sure I and many other people have had this problem when the owner of a plot has to go and nobody can take their place. If somebody is griefing you or a friend wants to help you out with building something, you can't deny or add that person from the plot which, in my opinion, causes a lot of problems on creative when the owner is away.

If someone is a Moderator, they can deny, add and remove people from the plot. Moderators can't remove ownership or reset a plot and the owner can only give moderator to people. This way, people that the owner trust or co-owner of the plot can still do stuff even when the owner is offline or somewhere else.

Obviously, there are gonna be some people who might take advantage of this and, of course, this has its flaws but so does having just the owner being able to remove and add people because if someone was to grief and the owner wasn't on then there would be nobody to deny them until they get reported. In my opinion, this should at least be tested to see if it goes well.
FAQ
"What if a moderator messes around or trolls the owner?"
In my personal opinion, this is a very unlikely situation where a mod would troll the owner. I do not know or think anyone on the server would typically add someone that would troll like this with the intention to annoy or anger the owner because there would be no reason to (if there was like they had fallen out then they probably wouldn't even still be mod) but in the circumstances that this does happen, I feel that is a wake up call to the owner to add only trusted people, the outcome wouldn't be any different to if it was just the owner, the person would be reported and denied from the plot if you consider the likeliness of this happening.

"What if the moderator adds someone without their permission or opens the plot?"

"Some players may just make random people moderators"
As for the open plot question, refer to the answer above. For the adding someone without the owner knowing, I would think they would trust that person enough to allow them to add and remove the right people. I feel like this is overestimating the amount of people that would be this irresponsible. It's like how in a rp, there are co-owners/helpers in the rp. The owner doesn't just go around giving staff roles to anyone who joins, they're normally already irl/online friends or helped with building it. I seriously doubt the chances of the owner not only adding someone they hardly know but for that person to then go against that owner and risk being banned from the server and for the few people that do, I don't feel like that outweighs the pros.

"What if they gave moderator to someone and that person add griefers?"
I'll just quote a reply on this thread that pretty much answers this question
I don't think someone you trust enough to add to your plot would add griefers to grief knowing that if they did, they'd get banned and the plot would be restored

Commands
/Plot moderator add [Username] - Add a moderator to the plot
/Plot moderator remove [Username] - Remove a moderator from the plot

I like this idea and think it would be great for Creative! Due to all the griefing, my only worry is that if you trusted someone and made them a Plot Moderator and that player back stabbed you and added griefers to the plot, what will the owner do? The owner of the plot could take responsibility and only add their friends who they ABSOLUTELY trust to their plots. But you do get those players who aren't thinking who they are adding. But I'll give it a +1

I also really like this idea.
To reply to
"what if the moderator adds griefers?"
I don't think someone you trust enough to add to your plot would add griefers to grief knowing that if they did, they'd get banned and the plot would be restored, so I don't see how this problem should result to this thread being a -1?

"What if the /plot moderator adds random players?"
You can easily remove a plot moderator if they do things you dislike to your plot, it's not very difficult to type /plot moderator remove <username>

The good outweighs the bad that I've seen on other posts similar to this!
Overall +1!

Bumping this so it doesn't get cold.

I've also edited the thread with a FAQ for questions I've seen so far.

In my opinion this idea is not that good. Adding moderators to plots could cause more greifing that there already is. Moderators would be able to mess with the people in the plot meaning:
1) they could add anyone even without permission of the actual owner.
2) they could remove people the owner wants to be able to build in the plot.
With the first scenario happening they could even do /plot add * which creates an open plot. This could lead to the owner getting greifed.
The second scenario they could just start messing around and troll the owner in ways. For example an owner could add the person to the plot and a moderator could keep removing them to trick them into thinking they were never added.
I do see positive aspects of the suggestion however to me it isn't that good of an idea.

I'll try posting since the last got deleted:

OH, Yes, what a splendid idea, i've always wanted this to happen. +1
Reason why i think this is a good idea:

This is a good idea because it ruins it for people if you're hosting an event such as an rp or skin comp or shop and you have to leave right as it starts. It's annoying, especially after getting people's hopes up of an event.

I have updated the FAQ and main post responding to some of the questions and problems I've seen.

Thanks for everyone's input so far <3. If an admin/developer like @agh @MorphicDream or @Unstitched could see this, I would also appreciate your input as well.

I feel this is a lovely idea as it has great possibility.

Reasons it could go wrong: Also the concern of greifers could still be a problem. Say you're friends with someone then you get into a fight. Then they add either an alternate account or find a greifer to ruin the plot. Another thing is with the role play plots if you gave someone plot mod and they added a griefer just because they thought they wanted to do a role play.

Reasons why it could be good: I feel it would be good because it would help with role plays. Say you own a good role play plot that you want to let your friend use when you are offline, this idea could help with that.

Overall, with all the problems that could come up there are also many great out comes to go with it. +1
